Really not what I expected. The old town has so many winding streets to be explore. I loved it.

We walked into town from the dock. Really nice city with large walled old town. There was a market on the day we were there with mixed stalls selling everything from veg to antiques

Not the nicest bit of the city when you get off the ship, as you're bombarded with people trying to sell you unrealistic day trips (we were only there for a few hours). But once you've passed all that, and found the street stalls and the amazing narrow streets of the Diocletian Palace, it is easy to see why this has received Unesco World Heritage Site status. We found a beach some 15 minutes from the centre and spent a couple of hours there.

Always enjoy Split, just walk straight from the ship to the centre and once you get there, plenty of bars, restaurants and shops etc. Especially like the covered seating areas of the bars along the main strip past the harbour.

Very easy to walk from the ship to city center. Very easy to spend entire day just walking on your own.

After your visit in town, go down to the beach where you'll find a nice little beach side restaurant for an appetizer and wine. Crystal clear ocean water.

Hard to believe we were walking through a palace built in 295! Such history! Enjoyed the public markets, the local music and the shopping. The Dalmatian Singers in the dome in the palace were wonderful! Also got to the local Harley Davidson for a shirt from Split Croatia!

A much larger town, it is famous for Diocletian's Palace. I guess I didn't research this enough and was somewhat disapointed with the Palace. It was really a walled town in which 3000 people live. There are hundreds of building in the palace and some of them are more recent looking. All of these ports we visited were crowded, even in October but there weren't many families with children at that time. I can't imagine how these ports would be in summer.

Quaint little town, but was the most underwhelming of our 4 ports. Not much to it besides some Roman history show in the main square. Had a nice coffee in one of the cafes off the square but called it an early day and enjoyed some time back on the ship before everyone else got back

Another great port. Ship is right in town, which is great. Clean city to walk around and see the old church, palace and sights. Had a lovely wine and charcuterie lunch with all Croatian products. Would really like to go back to Croatia.
