Port area that RCCL has done is great. Nice shops. Good selection if you don't want to leave area. Otherwise you need to do an excursion. Did off site, non cruise line excursion - Blue Water Beach Club. All inclusive. It was average.

Hated every minute!!!! We made an excursion to Blue Water beach resort. Again, constant tipping requests, for dirty, tacky resort. We left after an hour.

The port area is very nice and had many shops. We had an excursion booked- Appleton Estates Rum Experience with Lunch and Beach Break. We knew we weren't actually going to the Appleton Estates disitillery, but the atmosphere was still a little bit disappinting, maybe because there were only 3 couples there and we were the only ship in port that day. The rum was great! We actually ended up purchasing a bottle in the gift shop (where you can also sample all of their rum cream flavors). Our jerk chicken lunch with rice and beans was delicious. Then we were transported to Blue Waters Beach Resort, which was beautiful and had a fun party atmosphere- we'll probably just go there for the whole day if we go again.

Decent shopping port. Jamaica is the home of Blue Mountain coffee. Although very expensive (Over $15.00 per pound), it is one of the smoothest coffees in the world. You can get it as coffee beans or already ground. We bought 6 lbs on this trip. Great souvenirs available, Although not the best jewelry ports (St. Thomas and St Marteen have always been far better), it has a wide range of shops offering all sorts of jewelry. Tours are available as well. Check the excursions on the Royal site before you board for the best selection.

We WASTED our money on Place In The Sun excursion. The tour guide and driver John were about the best things of this trip. The beach Doctors cove that they took us to was a PUBLIC bathing pool NOT exclusive or private as they described. Meaning locals could pay $6 to get in. The food was expensive and not good. And every 2 mins you had someone asking you to buy smoke (pot) or blow (COCAINE)!!!! The "shopping" stop ended up being a store they knew the owner of, next to a Burger King, and was BEYOND over priced! Claimed everything 50% off, but the prices after their 'discounts' were more than any store in port!!! Kaychain $7 magnet $6 shirt $30for something in port would be 10-15.

The port itself is nice and clean. Be sure to know the prices of those things you want to purchase before handing a cashier your credit card. Few things have prices marked and if you don't know the price before purchase, you are likely to be surprised at the receipt.

We went to Mystic Mountain and did the sky lift, bob sled and lunch. What a NICE place. Would go back again anytime. Don't expect to see wild animals in the "rainforest" but you will enjoy the view. The bob sledding is a MUST, so much fun! Lunch was good as well and the entertainment was fun. We then went to Dunn River Falls. Beautiful as well. We did not climb the waterfall due to injuries on our part, but it sure did look like the others were having fun and enjoying themselves. Be CAREFUL of the shops.... they are relentless!
