Review summary

We had two other couples join us. They had limited cruising experience. For 1, was her first time. Overall we had a good experience on the Liberty. Had been several years since we had been on RCCL. Like the Promenade Idea. Pizza was better than those we have had on Carnival. Night shows we went to, which were several, where very good to EXCEPTIONAL!! We have NEVER been on a bad cruise. Some better than others. In addition, we cruise based on the best deals for us, not on a particular cruise line. We have been on Carnival, Holland America, Norwegian, Princess and RCCL. We certainly will consider RCCL again but nothing we experienced would now make it our "cruise line" of choice.

Quickly got on. No glitches

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Generally food is good on cruise lines. We have been on several different lines and find the food pretty comparable across the board with exceptions.

Onboard Activities

Water slides were great. Flow Rider looked awesome but I didn't try it as did the Rock-climbing wall. Kids area, for those that have them, was well done.

Entertainment

The Night Time Shows, were HIGH QUALITY. Especially the Ice Spectacular - AWESOME!! 5 star Live band/music left a lot to be desired. On the last Sea Day at Pool, was to be Caribbean Music. They played, what I call "3 Elevator songs in a row". We got up and left - less than 3 stars.

Service and Staff

We had My Time Dining and we ending up getting a Waiter Alfonso from Phillipines. HE WAS AWESOME. We asked for him and got him most nights. Room steward was overall attentive. Karen from Phillipines that was a Windjammer Greeter and "Washy Washy" person, AWESOME. Great spirit.

Ship Quality

Some of the layout was kind of cut up and the rooms #'s didn't run in order but in sections. The room finder kiosks, etc. were excellent.

Cabin / Stateroom

Standard Balcony but we got Spacious outside balcony area and that was nice. Really liked the design of the Glass door going out onto Balcony. It slid to the side instead of like a door. ELIMINATED the banging vibrations and noise that are annoying on Carnival Balconies. Like that there was a Shower Door system instead of a curtain. Overall it was a little smaller on bathroom. Cabin was clean and steward did a good job of taking care of it.

Port area that RCCL has done is great. Nice shops. Good selection if you don't want to leave area. Otherwise you need to do an excursion. Did off site, non cruise line excursion - Blue Water Beach Club. All inclusive. It was average.

Disembarkation

Took a little time to call us for self debarkation but then we were called, went right off the ship.
