Review summary

We have two suggestions. 1- All of the activities at the pool (belly flop, etc) should be able to be viewed on the big screen during the activity for those of us who can't see past the crowd. 2-You should have internet access available to those of us who don't buy VOOM to be able to research Royal Caribbean ships, itineraries, ports, etc. We really wanted to book our next cruise but we had no way to look up the different ships, ports, itineraries, etc. The NEXT CRUISE staff has some info, but they really weren't able to answer many of our questions without looking up answers, which may or may not have been spot on (like excursions at different ports) The internet cafe should have some computers hooked up to RCI info so that we can better prepare for our next cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR food was good, but not enough of a variety of foods. Staff (Brian and Caryn) were excellent. Buffet foods were on the bland side. We had an incident where the food signs were removed during lunch as they were preparing for supper, so no one knew what the dishes were. But it was still during the lunch hour.

Sorrento's Pizza

5 out of 5

Excellent Pizza!

Schooner Bar

5 out of 5

We loved the Piano Bar and Phil Anderson. We are not drinkers, but we went back every night.

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

Brian and Caryn were excellent servers. We had Diogo and Oscar one night and they hardly spoke to us. One evening we had to cancel our reservation, so we called the operator to ask how to cancel a reservation ,and she told us to just not show up. We found that odd.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools, hot tub, solarium were excellent. We were very impressed that the lifeguards took great care in making sure rules were followed. The only downfall is that people still save chairs, even when they are NOT using them. This should be modified.

Photo Gallery and Shop

3 out of 5

The photo monitors often didn't work or they booted us off after 10 seconds, while we were contemplating purchases. One evening we asked a staff member about a photo coupon and we were told that it had expired. As we completed our order, we found out that the coupon was still valid.

RC Online

There are some kinks that need to be ironed out. It is not as user friendly as it should be

Every seat is a good seat!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My son's step daughter LOVED the kids program. We found the staff friendly and very efficient.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Igusti, our room steward was exceptional. Our servers, Brian and Caryn in the MDR made our trip memorable. They were awesome. We enjoyed the Cruise Director Jeffrey.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I enjoyed the fact that the ship was on the smaller side (compared to Oasis). Everything was easy to find. Everything was clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We enjoyed this cabin very much and would reserve it again.

Ship tip

Use the cruise compass so that you have FULL knowledge of what is going on and that you don't miss out on anything.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
We did not do an excursion, but we stayed overnight and enjoyed walking and visiting the Sea wall area. There was a lot to see and do. We would come back.

Cozumel, Mexico

Mr Sanchos was perfect. We are sad that we had a lot of rain, but we would go back. The port was great for shopping.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
This was the best for us. We loved Captain Marvin and would use his tour again.

Falmouth, Jamaica

2 out of 5
We did not have plans for Jamaica so we took the cruise directors advice and took a drive with a local man, Le Roy, who did have a card to prove that he was legit. He explained that he was cheaper than the ship and he would charge $50 for both of us, and that we would see everything that the ship tours offer, for much cheaper. He did show us some nice views, but when we stopped at a fruit stand, it cost us $20 to taste coconut water and a banana. Then he brought us to the 'CHEAPEST souvenir shop on the island' which we found our later was the most expensive place to shop - all of their souvenir prices were 75% more than the local market. While we shopped, LeRoy left us at the store to pick up other clients and we had to wait over 30 minutes for him to come back. When he returned, LeRoy asked us to pay for his services at this very same souvenir shop and he charged us for 3 hours, $150 because he said we were with him 3 hours. We were with him 140 minutes (less than 2.5 hours) and 30 minutes of that was waiting for him to come back. When we reached the port we found much, much cheaper and nicer souvenirs, so we bought a few more things just to support the locals. We were very discouraged. It is VERY important that the Cruise Staff warn people about this kind of behaviour. We were trying to do the right thing by supporting the locals... and he was a fraud!

I research the cruise that I wish to book prior to booking on the ship down to the cabin, but I understand your point about the access. I agree with the poolside activities being displayed on the big screen.

Great idea for them to open net to access RCCL site and next cruise. You may want to email that suggestion to them and ask for royalties for the idea. United Airlines allows you to access their site onboard.

Myself i do not care to watch people in pool on big screen, what a waste. I am sure many others will agree.
