If you are not a souvenir/jewelry shopper I would encourage you to take an excursion around the island. The port area is beautiful but enough with the shopping!!

Both under and above water damage from the past years' hurricanes were noticeable.

A custom taxi tour was very affordable and was much easier than a bus tour when walking is a problem.

We've been to other Mexican ports of call on the Pacific so I guess this was what we expected. Nothing super spectacular, just a good stop.Did not travel the whole island so we could have missed out on different things elsewhere.Don't get me wrong...we had a real good time there.

Did the Mexican Cooking class in Cozumel. Free drinks and use of the beach was part of the package (though they didn't advertise it). If you like partying while learning to cook this would be the shore excursion for you. We by passed the drinks and enjoyed the food. It was very good. The chef was entertaining.
