We did a really fun Salsa, Salsa, Salsa excursion where we made 2 different Salsa's, a guacamole, and learned to Salsa dance! This was so much fun and having gotten the recipes for the Salsa's was a bonus!

*Exclusive Dolphin Swim VIP Experience* We booked this excursion because we both wanted to swim with dolphins and read many great things about Dolphinaris, which is where the excursion actually takes place in Cozumel. The name of this tour is the “Exclusive Dolphin Swim VIP Experience” from Carnival’s website. This is a review of that excursion from beginning to end so if you have questions, maybe this will help clear them up for you. Our excursion met at the end of the pier in Cozumel across from the “3 Amigos Cantina”. When you go through the last security check point and cleared to roam in the port, the excursion was to our right. I give instructions on where to find the excursion meeting point because we almost missed an excursion in Nassau that we booked because we couldn’t find the correct meeting place. Keep in mind that the location for each excursion may change daily-this was just our experience with the day and port. We were scheduled to depart from the port with our group at 8:45am. We did not leave until 9am because a group of 12 walked up late and also others walked up trying to purchase the excursion that had not already. There was approximately 40 people or so in our group altogether, but only 10 VIP. VIPs were given priority on the van ride that took us to Dolphinaris and it was only about 5-7 minutes from the cruise port. Upon arriving at Dolphinaris, we were greeted by Benjamin, who was phenomenal. We were given a non-alcoholic cocktail and cool cloth to cool us off. We were provided lockers to secure our things at no additional cost. (I believe all others had to rent them) Then, we were shown the VIP area with the infinity pool that overlooks the ocean as well as one of the dolphin pools. We were given just a few minutes to change and get ready to do the dolphin encounter. We were then given clear instructions on how to interact with the dolphins. Then, we had the most awesome time in the dolphin pool with our dolphin, Marcie. Interactions included petting, high five, dolphin kiss, dolphin feeding, and dolphin belly ride. We probably had 40-45 minutes of interaction with the dolphin in the water with the trainer. Also, as a VIP, we only had 4 people including me in our group in the water with one dolphin and trainer. We had a blast! After our dolphin interaction, we were led to lunch where there was a four course meal (appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert) cooked to order as well as unlimited drinks. Definitely come hungry, as the food was delicious. Attached you will find the menu for the lunch as well as a drink menu. Our drinks were never empty and they took our next drink order when we had 3/4 of a drink still left. The service was excellent-I can’t stress that enough. After lunch, we went to the VIP only area called “The SunDeck” with the infinity pool that overlooks Dolphinaris as well as the ocean. The views from the pool were great and the drinks kept coming from the private bar. The VIP area is enforced as two guests tried to get into the infinity pool and were asked to leave. After lunch had settled, most of our VIP group went down for snorkeling, but we chose to stay at the pool and enjoy the view. Snorkeling for them lasted around 20-30 minutes and they were back. Benjamin, our guide for the day, explained the picture packages to us and our options. We opted to purchase the pictures since this was such a wonderful experience and something we would not do every day. A single photo was $39.99 and the package deal for all of our pictures (110) was $149. 108 photos were emailed and 2 of our choice were printed off for us to have immediately. We then boarded a taxi van again with VIPs and were taken back to the cruise port. The excursion, from meeting up until drop off, lasted around 4 hours. Overall, the experience was great from beginning to end and I would highly recommend the excursion to anyone. The photo package may not be feasible for all, but the experience was something we will not forget. I am sorry that this review is so long, but I know I had questions about the experience before spending this much for an excursion. Maybe this helps you decide on whether or not the excursion is right for you.

It was BEAUTIFUL!! The water so blue. The port is big enough for you to walk around and explore on your own. This is a 100% tourist destination so expect higher prices and not a lot of authentic mexican culture. We did enjoy our Ruins excursion where we visited mayan ruin site and a quick trip to the beach. We talked to the locals and learned than everything they do is geared to please the tourist industry so not a lot of organic mexican culture but great learning experience and cool historical site. Great pics and shopping!

You always hear experienced cruisers say they have been here, theres nothing to do. Well, that's not true. Depending on the port you come in on, (we came in down town), there is a little keyosk for this area that you would think is just pictures and not true to what they tell you. Playa Mia, just go. I'm telling you from the unlimited buffet, the inflatable water slides in the ocean, the paddle boats, the kayaks and giant bikes you can ride in the ocean, to the huge water slides, multiple pools, hot tub, water park for kids and 5 open bars all included in the $60 a person price is so worth it. Kids under 4 are free. There was a small catamaran you can ride with a driver so you can relax. If you do that, tip the guy, it's hard controlling that thing over waves from larger boats, it's all wind powered. One of things that does cost extra is the jet skis but not much more. Everyone that works there is kind. I highly recommend.
