Had a great time! It is a huge ship with lots to do. Although the cruise was sold out, I did not feel way overcrowded. We were a group of 30 and already began planning the NextCruise on the Harmony as several of us booked onboard. Can't wait.
Allure of the Seas Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
Overall we had a great time. The low "overall rating" was more due to the ports. The ship was sold out but did not feel over-crowded, except for the pool. We had first time cruisers in our group and they, as well as those of us who have cruised before, were happy and satisfied with the ship, activities, staff, food and beverages. Can't wait for the next cruise on Harmony.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth. We arrived early so we waited a bit to board, but when they started boarding, went quick if you checked in online.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I give it a 4 because although the food was good, I won't compare them to a high end restaurant. I did not eat at a specialty place, but a couple in our group had Izumi and raved about it. The MDR food was good, I had the New York Strip a couple of times and it was great cooked medium rare, good and juicy! Depending on your palate for dessert, they were good. Some were sweet, some were tart, but overall pleased all of us. Unless you are a coffee snob, the ship's coffee is decent. Not too weak or strong. Starbucks on board can get pricey with added gratuity.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Pools get crowded but that's expected. Get there early for lounge chairs. The Solarium pool gets crowded also, but no kids, so it's quiet compared to the main pools. A couple of people in our group did the rock climbing, zip line and the fitness center and had a good time with no complaints.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The Aqua show was good, passed on Mama Mia, the Headliner show was great and funny (forgot his name but he was a juggler/comedian.) Disappointed in Blue Planet, it was too slow and kind of boring, but that will depend on what you like. The Comedy shows were hilarious. Best to reserve entry into shows, especially the comedy shows as venues get full. Walk-ups are allowed but have to wait in line until after reservations are let in.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room attendant (Danilo) was great and very attentive and prompt. Latoya in the MDR was just as great. She was professional, helpful and especially funny talking to us about her experiences on the ship and the things she has seen from passengers, in a funny way. The guest services staff was courteous and attentive to detail while assisting us.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is huge, but not overwhelming. It is not as hard to get around or crowded as some people make it out to be. The only really crowded area is the pool deck. Overall the ship was kept clean. I didn't see anything that made me think, "wow, what a mess." Staff is continually cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
Bed was comfy and heard that from a few in our group. I found 5 electrical outlets in the cabin, 3 on the desk, 1 under the desk and 1 behind one side of the bed.
Ship tip
The elevators can get busy and full. If you're going one deck up or down, just take the stairs. Or Take the ride up or down even if it's the opposite way you're going. What goes up, must come down and vice-versa. You'll be waiting for awhile otherwise. And please let people off first, don't rush to get on.
Again, unless you did an excursion, there's nothing but the port. Port's nice with shopping, food, pool and dolphin adventure, but was overcrowded with 3 ships in port.
