Should not be charging for shuttle to town. If you want to go to glacier, book shuttle on Viator and it takes you all day. Then you can sornd as much time as you want thete. I recommend you hike to glacier and water fall. It is about a mile but easy hikr

Quayside shopping is handy, but the best feature are the seafood restaurants. Best crab and salmon I've had. The cable car is expensive and a bit of a letdown. BEST experience was the dog-sled excursion on Mendenhall Glacier. Highlight of our cruise.

Shopping was good and convenient, except the shops all closed early. Went whale watching which was awesome. We had a whale breach in front of us which in uncommon in Alaska. Saw a Bald Eagle catch a fish, but missed it on the video. Then we had a very bright double rainbow right in front of Herbert Glacier.

I saw bald eagles, which was worth the trip by itself.

Our trip to the Mendenhall Glacier and subsequent visit to the Salmon Bake was terrific. Highly recommended!

the excursions were fantastic but the main town area was over done with jewelry stores and the sales people were pushy. calling you out in the street and then if you did go in to look around constant pressure to buy.
