Juneau still has much to attract, but it has become extremely commercial. Sales personnel stand in their doorways and try to get you to enter their store.

Lots of shops, but mostly jewelry. We didn't make it very far, because it was raining.

We did the Mendenhall Glacier tour through the ship. The drive to it was great we saw lot of Bald eagles. We walked to the glacier and saw the falls. Need more time had to walk kind of fast to get back to the bus. Also the bathrooms were not clean. Than we did the mount Roberts tram. The view was amazing. Once the fog lefted. We walked a short trail on our own hoped to see a bear but we didn't. The guy in the shop was making a totem pole which was cool to watch. We than took the tram back down. It was time to get back on the ship.

Really liked our whale watching tour in Juno. "Alaska Galore Tours" was great. The driver was quiet the talker but funny at times. We went with the boat that only has room for 16 guests. Great experience. Saw plenty of bald eagles, sea lions, humpback whales and a group of orcas. I know not all trips will be that lucky but the crew knew where to go and took their time and got us in the right place at the right time

This was a fun stop. We did the salmon bake excursion which was a nice ride by bus to a beautiful spot in the woods. We had some great salmon - cooked over fire.

It was another rainy day. We planned to have some hiking but had to cancel it. We still enjoyed some local shopping and free salmon tasting. The one that we liked had to be kept frozen, so we didn't buy any though. We planned to find more options in Skaway.

The Mendenhall Galcier is a must see. I recommend the cruise ship excursion. The on shore shuttle service cost $32/person.

8/29/18 On and off clouds but the day was clear w/ some sunshine- 64° (f). We were lucky! The day before they said it was all rain. Visited Mendenhall Glacier and did the hour long trail hike (30 min going and 30 min coming) to Nugget Falls and totally worth it! Don't forget to bring a bottle of water. Had lunch at Gold Creek Salmon Bake.
