Azamara Quest

Cabin number: 8071

Review summary

As usual, sailing with Azamara was a pleasure. This my tenth voyage was a time to meet old acquaintances among the crew and to become acquainted with interesting fellow passengers. I would recommend that Azamara institute a policy of no hats or caps in the dining areas. After all, we are on a luxury ship and not at a tailgate gettogether. There is not much to add. There were no unpleasant surprises. They exceeded our expectations based on the nine previous trips concerning the comfort of the suite.

Service and Staff

Marinelle was a joy to have as a waitress, Head Waiter Harry was his usual busy self finding time to greet and converse the guests, and Osvy, Caitano and Ziggy kept the suite in a very clean state. It is easy to remember their names since they were so personable. All made one feel welcome.

Cabin / Stateroom

A vast improvement over the closest suite. Excellent bed and spacious living area, and the bathroom easily large enough to move about freely.

Ship tip

Learn the names of the people with whom you come into daily contact and greet them by name. They are remembering YOUR name and face.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

The level of organization was quite impressive.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Excellent ground excursion in the rainforest.

Juneau, Alaska

Juneau still has much to attract, but it has become extremely commercial. Sales personnel stand in their doorways and try to get you to enter their store.

Sitka, Alaska

Probably the one place I could settle in. The visit to the Fortress of the Bear should not be missed!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

The talk with the men carving the totem pole was worth the stop, which by itself was a pleasure.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

The Quest gave us plenty of opportunity to study this majestic sign of nature.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

The transfer from the Quest to the beginning of a 4-night post-cruise adventure was highly organized.
