Embarkation

It couldn't have been easier. Everything from dropping off our bags at the shuttle stop to the quick moving check in line to arriving at our state room. So easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The adult drink package is a must. The food was wonderful. The complimentary restaurants - Savor, Taste and Manhattan Room - provide a beautiful and scenic setting, great service and of course wonderful food.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
This was a lazy trip for us. There were a lot of things to do but we didn't join in this time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the shows - Foot Loose, Comedy shows, Beatles Revolution and the daily concerts in the atrium.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we came in contact with were a joy. They were all so helpful, always smiling and friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Joy is a newer ship and it is beautiful.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a mini-suite. The bathroom was large with a full shower and the bed was very comfortable. We had plenty of room and we really enjoyed the view from our balcony!

Ship tip

Take advantage of the restaurants!

Ports of call

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
We really didn't do much here. We just got off the boat and walked around and did a little shopping.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
This was a fun stop. We did the salmon bake excursion which was a nice ride by bus to a beautiful spot in the woods. We had some great salmon - cooked over fire.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
We did the White Pass Yukon Route train excursion which was a lot of fun and we saw beautiful scenery. The only issue we had was the long walk from the ship to the train and the even longer walk from the train back to the boat. Thank goodness it wasn't raining.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
We arrived in the afternoon and since we've been to Victoria before we enjoyed the ship to ourselves for a few hours. :)

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Long lines but it moved pretty fast. The only issue we had was difficulty in finding our shuttle back to the airport.

Thank you for your review. We will sail on the Joy through the Panama Canal in Feb 2020. I saw you were in a suite, which we will be also. Can you please tell me what kind of coffee pot was in the cabin? Was it a Keurig type with pods? Or the kind with self contained ground coffee in 2-4 servings per brew size? Hope you don't think it is a silly question, but I have been looking for months for an answer! Thanks!
