We started the day with a sightseeing tour and a little show. For us it was worth it because we learned more about Hoonah and the Tlingit than if we had just walked through the tiny town on our own. Aterwards I took a whale watching trip and lucked out because we saw the elusive orcas that aren't often seen. My husband did the ziprider and he loved it! It was his first time riding one.

My mother and I took the forest tram tour with a wonderful local guide. He was a knowledgeable older gentleman. He gave us a lot of interesting information about his community, their history, and the land. It was touching the way he welcomed us all as guests. The tour was relaxing and pleasant.

We chose to do the bear adventure which was very fun our guide was a native man from hoonah he's fourth or fifth generation in hoonah maybe longer very nice man and we saw two grizzlies which was a great trip

Small port, easy to get around and plenty of walking trails and activities - zip wire for example.
