Very much enjoyed the "behind the scenes" tour of the ship. It's pricey but I was glad we did it.

We were fogged in most of the day, it did clear late afternoon and we observed whales swimming along side the ship.

Not a port, but classic scenic cruising. Again saw several whales. Did not want to look away.

I had no idea what to expect and it became the biggest highlight of my trip. Captain traveled slowly that entire day so we could get the total awe experience of the Mountains. Islands. Water. Air and icebergs. Unforgetable. We also ordered room service for breakfast so we wouldn't miss anything. So glad we choose this ship for the passage.

Wasn't sure how final day of "sailing only" could match the Hubbard experience, but we loved the views, the mountains, the inlets and islands of the Inside Passage more than we anticipated. Also, plenty of orcas and some porpoises to entertain as well. Was worried the cruise was going to be anti-climatic the last full day, but it was a great finale.

The Inside Passage is the only way to see Alaska, and starting in Vancouver affords this routing. We found that starting in Seattle is wasteful because travel is on the outside of Vancouver Island and we were at sea, without shoreline views for 4 days of the 7 day trip. Never out of Seattle if you want to see the beauty of western Canada and Alaska.
