Some embarkation ports have severe traffic problems, some terminals don't have enough seats, some make you stand outside on long lines. Others are just uncomfortable - either too hot, too cold. Some need to be upgraded. Which embarkation port has the best terminal facilities for passengers?

The city is charming and the people are really nice. The only thing I liked about New Orleans is the French Quarters.
The French Quarter is fun especailly at night. Love to just hang out there.
San Juan, hands down. Lovely city, tons of history and restaurants, and you are that much closer to the islands, so less days at sea!
Didn't we have a couple of members of FV who were from New Orleans or that area?
Did you know that the chicory coffee they enjoy and the Cajun culture was thanks to Canadians?
Although I have never sailed from this port, i have spent several vacations here. I always enjoyed myself.
There are only 3 reasons
1st is it is beneficiary for me and I can take as much as luggage.
2nd is parking, I can park my car near the ship.
Finally I can see easily without worrying about my luggage.
Did you know that Cajun is just a shortened accented version of Canadian or Acadian since that is the origin of many of the Cajun ancestors. The French Canadian (Acadians) that were chased down there when the British displaced them back in the 1700s. Over time the name morphed from Acadian to Cajun.
I did know that - I paid attention in history class. LOL
We have only ever sailed out of NY Manhattan terminal and Boston. I really enjoyed them both.

So far, my favorite has been Port Canaveral. We basically walked right on and right off the ship. Super easy!
We have only ever cruised from Miami and Ft. Liquordale and we prefer Miami due to the fact that the terminal is newer, more comfortable and flows quickly getting on and off. Ft. Liquordale is like an old bus terminal.
So far, we have had the best experiences (near seamless) in Port Canaveral and Jaxport.
We had sailed twice previously from Miami. Both times were chaotic and stressful. When we sailed from there last week, staggered check-in had been implemented. It made a world of difference IMO. It was much more organized and the waiting area wasn't nearly so crowded.
