Price Alert

After reading something here i signed up to get price alerts for my cruise and today i got an email that the price went down so i called RCCL to see what could be done.

She was very nice and was going to see about an upgrade to the room but said that it was a sold out cruise. i asked her since it was a sold out cruise was there a way to get a credit for one of the packages (drink or dinning) and she said that they don't do that.

Is that true? i am fine with not getting anything but i just wanted to make sure that they really don't do that.

Good point! The cruise lines like using OBC (kinda like play money) to sweeten deals and make you feel better. You just have to be polite in the negotiations.

Check with your TA or the cruise line you booked with or do a mock booking.

Where can you sign up to find out of price goes down. We leave Feb. 16

I don’t wait for alerts. I check my prices multiple times a week.

There is no limit to how many price drops you can get. If the price drops before final payment, you get the lower rate. If it drops after final payment, you get on board credit. If your category is sold out, you won’t get a reduction because there’s nothing to compare it to. Even if my category sells out, I still check because people always cancel.

1000$ ! We always book early saver rates, is there a "limit" on how many times you can call and get the OBC??

Depending on how you booked, if you booked through the cruise line, call and see if you can get an onboard credit for the difference. If you booked through a travel agent call the travel agent. It will also depend on the special (if any) under which you booked. You have nothing to loose by making the phone call. Good luck!

What if you didn’t receive an alert but the price dropped is there anything I can do

Congratulations! What a wonderful way to start the New Year!

I received a price alert for a Jun 2021 Celebrity cruise with $1000 drop from when I booked on-board. Called my TA and got rebooked. This is the second time I've been able to noticeably reduce cruise fair using this feature.
