Pre-Cruise Fears

The two biggest things I worry about right before I'm getting ready to go on a cruise are 1) losing my license and/or passport and 2) falling and breaking or spraining something.

I never carry my passport unless traveling so that is irrational but I am extra cautious with my license and debit cards a few days before I leave. I'm klutzy and have a huge yellow lab that likes to drag me on the leash if a rabbit appears

What do you worry about when single digit days approach?

I usually worry about getting sick, so I do a lot of airbourne before (a week) the cruise.

Other than that, it is forgetting to pack something, or missing our plane. We leave the day before, but it's still a hassle I don't want to deal with.

The main thing that I worry about is lost luggage. If I take a flight, I may be concerned about airport delays or car problems if driving to the terminal. I keep a list of things to pack so I don't worry about that. I guess we can always find something to worry about when taking a cruise.

My biggest worry is about mother nature interfering with travel to the port. Once at the port and on board I don't care because the ship can go where the ship may go so long as I am on it. Getting to port is usually the only worry I have.

I worry more about picking up a cold or flu. I'm on a couple immunosuppressants so if I pick a bug up it tends to go south very quickly. If we had to cancel the cruise, we would do so without hesitation. As for fear of falling, I actually fell and tore my achilles while on a cruise so I worry about being a klutz all the time.

We still usually leave only one day in advance, but that may be altered in the future. We are leaving the day we sail for the next one and I'm a wreck because of it. I'm not sure why the DH decided to do it, but he took charge of the flights. Fortunately, the weather looks good here and in LA for the flight out.

AuntPinkie, we now leave 2 days prior to our cruises because our airport can have delays or cancellations due to fog lasting for a couple of days during Feb and early March, our preferred times to vacation.

My friend did - he's very frugal in some ways, and now he can travel a lot more for a very good price thanks to his GF.

My Mother is still living (Dad died last year), so I worry something will happen and we need to cancel the trip as we had to last year. After that I worry about weather delays going that last more than the extra day we have allotted... don't worry so much about the return delays. I check the weather several times a day for the whole week prior...I know I can't do anything about it, but....

Who got the better end of that deal?

Not really, once I ensure all the documents and passports are where they are supposed to be. My philosophy is if i forgot it and really need it, ill buy it.
