Never leave home without your....

Travel documentation and paperwork! Please don't! My heart was breaking as a grown man was in tears because he didn't have his birth certificate and he was trying to receive a message so him and his son could sale... While another woman had to watch her husband and son bored and pace while her friend sped to the port with her passport from Jersey... Take a second check your bags and make sure you have everything. The woman was taking it like a champ saying it was her own fault, but I hate not seeing people sail....

Note* I was leaving work as they were both RUNNING to the gangway with other employees.... I'm just hoping they did not pull the gangway

Funny story - but it works. Years ago friends were headed off of on a train trip, departing from Lincoln, NE which was several hours drive from their home. About half way into the trip the man looked over at his wife and said, very casually, "Did you bring the piano?" She replied, "Of course not. What in the world are you talking about?" He replied, "Too bad, the tickets are on top." So, every time we head off on an adventure, my husband always asks "Do you have the piano?"

I double check them and keep them in a extra large passport holder that has room for Cruise docs, airline boarding pass, hotel info and car service agreement and info. It is one of the old packages from HAL when they sent doc's before the days of home computers.

I was going to say appetite.

either that or spouse.

My BF lost his wallet recently, and now may not be able to get a new license, but he has a passport (so we are covered to a degree)... I still want him to get his license though, but hes being stubborn.

I live in "fear" of losing my license and/or passport...I check and recheck to the point of being obsessive about it. I recently bought a bright document holder and keep everything in it ... but I still check and recheck lol...

Same here johngold, but in my household, I am the document holder. I ensure the day before that I have in my hands all passports, birth certs, etc. to ensure that we get away. Nothing sets the mood by having to drive back home to grab them

Since we have to fly to get to any ports, and all good ones are out of the country. Our documents are with us from the start. We can't get past security at the airport without them and we only live 20 min from the Airport. In case someone forgets something.

Danyl is the designated paperwork person, we are lucky since right now everyone lives at home so we have their passports. We do an state issued ID check before we leave home since the closest port is 4.5 hrs away even at Charleston a forgotten id would prove a 9 hr round trip and a missed cruise.

we still do a one last check for documents with danyl before leaving the driveway.

When we are in the car ready to pull out of the driveway, I make everyone pull out their docs and show them to me. Then I insist that someone look at my docs. I get eyerolls and groans, particularly when there were twelve of us going but I don't care.

I always start putting papers together usually several days before departure from home. And then I make sure I have all originals for everyone in a file folder in my carry on. I also make sure to pack photo copies of everything in a zip lock bag in my shaving kit in my carry on and my wife also carries photo copies.

And as a fail safe after driving 2 hours I have to produce my documentation to cross the border so if by some remote possibility something got left behind worse case scenario I have an extra 4 hours of driving. Good thing I always leave and do most of the driving the day before departure.
