Luggage

I got mine from bags.com, and they are fine. Hardtops, three sized (small medium and large) and have held up *Knock on wood* with the exception of the inside strap clip and sewing.... Oh well.

We get our luggage from Groupon deals. So far, our 31" hardside spinners have held up through three cruises and flights. They are ugly as all get out, but that makes them easy to spot at the airport. Plus, nobody else wants our bags LOL I can't even tell you right off hand what brands they are, but I do know that I paid $79 for one and around $100 each for the other two. When I researched the prices, the same bags in more desirable colors were $300-$600 on the manufacturer website.

Eddie Murphy had a joke where he compared something to luggage because you had it for life.

That’s not our experience. Between work travel and leisure travel we’re on the road a lot and we’ve yet to find a suitcase that can outlast us…

I have not had the problem but I tend to carry my case on and off so it does not get beat up......it also keeps me packing light if I know I have to carry it.

Our last cruise was the death of our big case. Ours tend to last about a year.

We certainly can sympathize with you. For many years our luggage only lasted one or two cruises when we travelled overseas. It was a joke, for us, buy new pretty soft sided luggage for Christmas and throw it away before the next. That is until we bought our first Samsonite 28’’ Spinner type luggage, years ago. Can’t believe it, we have travelled around the globe so many times with them I’ve lost count and the ramp rats haven’t damaged one yet. We have five now. Maybe Samsonite should hire bigger than their 500 lb. guerillas to test them for their adds, LOL. Hey, they still look pretty too.

We had a similar thing happen after our last cruise - a wheel was damaged. The piece was fine when we left it outside our room the last night and it was damaged when we collected it after we left the ship. The suitcase was only a year old, but I was not going to file a claim with Carnival because accidents happen, and nothing was damaged. It may have been a faulty wheel when we purchased it. Things just aren't made well sometimes, and break so easily.

Any luggage can be damaged today. We use hard sided over soft, except for carry on. But it gets scratched. I bought a small supply of handles, because they break so easily.
