Getting Your Feet Wet

I don't understand why people who have never cruised don't get their "feet wet" by trying a brief inexpensive cruise ...to anywhere ...There seems to be a focus on lengthy cruises to exotic ports which is grand, but maybe not for the first time cruiser.

I started family and friends on the 4 night Baja cruise out of Los Angeles. Since we live in L.A. no air fair so it is a cheap get away. On a 4 night cruise they can see if they like ship life or not. Everyone has liked cruising except for one sister in-law that did not like the time restraints of having to be back on ship at set time.

Maybe it's because the longer cruises do seem more "exotic" than the shorter ones. Plus there's all those cruise misconceptions.

I'm thinking the profit margin is better on longer cruises hence the emphasis... longer is better dontcha know.

Friends of our family was going to come with us on our group cruise next year. It's an 8 day and they've never cruised before. They decided to do a shorter cruise prior to make sure they like it before they get on board and realize they don't. I think it's a smart choice!

Some people instinctively know what they will and won't like even without experiencing it.

Luckily, my dad forced me to try new things and opened up my horizons.

My first cruise was a 4 day cruise ,way back in the Day
