Review by AmeliaVictoria

I will never board a Carnival Ship ever in my life again.

In response to review, CrusinTim says ...

This "Review" is a bit confusing to me. You indicate in the review that you were alone in your cabin, yet you indicate "Traveled As: Family w/older children". You also state that the item(s) were stolen from your cabin. Did you not know you had a safe in your cabin? Why would you leave personal items like a debit card and paperwork that has vital personal information out in the open in your cabin when you weren't there? You do know that your cabin steward does service your cabin 2 or more times a day right? Sorry if this happened to you, but whether your staying in a hotel or on a cruise ship, you should ALWAYS secure your valuables.

You know Stuart, the guy that cleans your cabin? Stuartist is his sister!Big Smile

(I think she is the one that sets out the Dijon for the mustard drill.)Yummy

BTW, this thread is a year old - it was resurrected by an advertisement post

What's a stuartist ?

I felt better reading your updated review. Glad to read that you will be cruising again in the future.

I want to apologize for the review I left, I'm not sure how to delete this review, I was upset with Carnival, because they took 5 weeks to send me my portfolio that I left in my room and it had important documents inside of it and they kept telling me that they didn't know where it was. I finally received a phone call leting me know they found it and shipped it directly to my room. My mother Aunt and I had a wonderful time on the cruise we are planning one for next year. The dinner in dinning area was great, the buffet for lunch is better than dinner. I loved the fact that there is 24 hour room service, the pictures were a bit expensive, but very nice and professional. I might try another cruise line wit less children, but there were some great shows and the casino was entertaining. For my first cruise it was great. It did make me feel annoyed that the stuartist knocked on my door when I had my do not disturb sign, to me it was disturbing, but the staff was very friendly and helpful the entire time. The excursions of the ship are exhausting and they clean your room I believe three times a day. If you want to save money, eat on board the food is great and then get of the ship to walk around. I will do a cruise next year, but I will be careful to clean my room out before I leave, because it is a long process to have your lost items returned. The last of the ship I got seasick, but I get seasick easily so it could be me. I did a short distance cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenda, MX. I plan on taking a longer cruise further down Mexico.

I have never had anything stolen on any ship and we have been on 47 cruises. We always use the safe for our valuables. Sorry that you had a bad experience.

We have never, ever had anything stolen from our cabin. We do lock up our valuables, but sometimes I leave a watch out, or a ring. And it doesn't have to be Carnival. I have been reading about incidents on other lines too. Personally, I think it's a sign of the times. There are SO MANY cruise ships that require so many workers, I'm sure the brokers that are used to staff them aren't doing the background checks they should be doing. Sorry about your experience
Sorry that you did not have a good time on the Inspiration. I can understand being upset about the loss of personal items form your room. I have been on that ship 3 times, never had a problem and found the ship very clean. I have have left passports, credit cards, cell phone, jewelry and cash in the safe and never had a problem. Cruise ships put the safe in the room for a reason. When your cabin is cleaned the doors are left open as cleaning staff goes in and out. Others can drop in and out of your cabin while the door is open. Carnival is what it is, For years I would not cruise Carnival as it is the Walmart of the industry. I broke down and tried it one year when the price was to good not to give it a try. You typically get a good deal for your vacation dollar with them. I liked the short 3 and 4 night carnival enough to try an upcoming 7 night on the Glory. I have had much worse food and service on a NCL and Princess ships. It is sad that you gave everything a bad rating because of the one issue. I hope you do not give up on Cruising because of this one bad experience. Like most on this site I am addicted to cruise ships. I will be taking my 4th cruise of the year in a couple months and thinking of a December trip also. In the future, in a hotel or a ship cabin, use the safe and lock things up. For the knocking on your door, did you call ship security? They have cameras in the hall ways. The Cabin Doors have a dead bolt for when you are in the room, I leave the closet door open when I sleep to block out the light form the peep hole. That will also make noise if anybody opens the cabin door. I have had cabins alone and never felt unsafe.
I am sorry that you had the bad experience on what should have been a relaxing vacation. I have not cruised Carnival myself, but I have friends who have and really, you get what you pay for .Now as to your expectations from this cruise. I would speak to your travel consultant if I were you... Sites like these offer very good information on what to expect and a good consultant will spend time with you to make sure that your experience is a great one, thereby ensuring that you will call them back. For the next trip/Cruise/Vacation you take...Please for your own sake and sanity, spend some time with a GOOD travel consultant, they know all the good and not so good things that can happen on vacation. Good luck.
