Review summary

We don't stress too much about the condition of the ship, The ports of call are our main reason to be on the cruise in the first place. We did a back to back on this ship with ports of call Copenhagen, Denmark, Bergen, Norway, Akureyri, Ísafjörður, & Reykavik, Iceland, Prince Christian Sound, Qaqortoq, Nanortalik, Greenland, St, John's, Newfoundland, & Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and of course NYC, New York, USA.

Embarkation

HAL is very organised, we got to the cruise terminal & right onto the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
All the food was OK, We ate mostly in the LIDO - cafeteria style, sometimes the food was inedible, sometimes lukewarm. The dining room was OK. As was the speciality restaurant.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not many activities to choose from. It was really too cold to try the pools. The ship is very plain Jane with no outstanding features, so no rock climbing walls, etc. You had to walk through the spa to get to the fitness centre, what's up with that?

Entertainment

Children's Programs

no children travelled with me

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
All the cruiselines that I have been on have a common theme. In order to get to the dining room or theatre you need to go through the shops or the casino. This time I found out that you have to go through the spa to get to the fitness centre. I understand the reasons for it, but this still irritates me. The common areas were well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The bed is too big for the room, but comfortable. The fan on the air conditioner was on all the time, blowing out recycled air, yuck.

Ship tip

Wait until after November 2017 to go on this ship. The ship will be out of dry dock then.

That is a lot of stops! I would pay about as much for excursions as the cruise itself.
