The seas were pretty rough and Gayle got quite sea sick the first two days.  The medical staff on board was great helping her with meds at first and then a shot that made all better.  Shane the Cruise Director was great.  Our dining room staff was great except on several nights our waiter had no help, staff seemed to be short.  Our room steward and attendant were great.  A young lady at breakfast  on the Lido Deck, who called herself Manda Panda was exceptionally helpful and very friendly.  It was a great cruise.  Thanks.

This was the first time we cruised with Holland America but surely won't be the last !! The food and entertainment onboard was great, especially the quality of the food at the Pinnacle specialty restaurant.

half moon key is definitely the best private island.. 

we will take Holland America again, for sure.

I haved been and diferent  cruises and this cruise really  my life the hospitality was wonderfull all the crude member was very friendly very active my sterdroom  was clean very fresh there are very good Iwill recommend to all my friends Iwas very happy with the hold ships thank you againg for all the graciousand unobtrusive service that you give us.

hearing from others who have been on numerous cruises I kind of knew what to expect.  I was disappointed in the 2nd gala dinner.  Did not think the food was anything outstanding.

All crew members we encountered were extremely pleasant and that made the trip more enjoyable.

We had a good time and I would do it again.

we had a very nice time on the cruise. I do have to say we only saw are stewart one time. I needed water replaced in our cabin left notes an we did not get it we had to go get are own. Other then that it was very enjoyable. 

This was an awesome cruise in every respect. The staff were orderly, disciplined, yet warm, friendly, and professional. Overall, an exceptional experience.

This was one of our best cruises out of many.  The service, food, activities and entertainment met or exceeded our expectations and I didn't hear anyone on board complaining much about anything.  The best part of cruising for us are the ports, and this seven-day Caribbean cruise had four days ashore to keep us busy. We had a lot of fun driving the dune buggy on Grand Turk; and Half Moon Cay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world for swimming, floating and sunning.  In San Juan and St. Thomas it was easy to pick up two-hour sightseeing tours upon disembarkation with qualified guides and safe, comfortable vehicles at about half the price of the on-board shore excursions.  We have learned that for short general tours this is the best way to go.  You can evaluate your guide's communication skills and give a quick inspection of the tour vehicle before you select them.  And they don't collect your money until the end.  We paid between $20 and $25 cash each plus an optional tip.  (For tours involving adventure or for those that travel a long distance from the ship, we usually book through the ship's shore excursion desk for our safety and to be sure we make it back in time for sail away.)

Our cabin 5048 was located port side near the forward elevators and stairs.  We discovered that from our cabin the quickest way to access the aft dining rooms, Lido buffet or pools, and the gangway is to walk back through our corridor to the mid-ship scenic elevators.  Perhaps because you have to turn your head to notice them, the scenic elevators are not used that much by the passengers so we hardly ever had to wait for a ride.  A port balcony is great if Puerto Rico is on your itinerary because you sail right past the famous El Morro castle and Old San Juan while the cruise director offers live commentary on the loudspeaker.

This sailing proved to us again that November is a great time for cruising.  The ship wasn't sold out, making it easy to get a table in the dining room as well as chairs around the pool or in the showroom.  And, of course, the price is right!

HA has become our cruise line of choice. The Westerdam did not disappoint us in any way. Great food, service and an elegant ship. Planning our next cruise on Ha as I write this.

Wonderful cruise! The entertainment was top notch! Rooms were very quiet and we were even close to the elevators. I wish I could have kept the bed and pillows. The comedian was hilarious, we still laugh when we talk about him. (Klett)

room steward was outstanding.  Needed some additional help in the dining room.  The staff on hand worked very hard but more assistance was needed to provide prompt service.  Was unable to use balcony for 3 days due to repairs.  Newly varnished railing left me nausea from the fumes. Painters were on the balcony.

This "repositioning" cruise was recommended by a friend, so we made this our first cruise on Holland America. The entertainment was outstanding--some of the best we have experienced on ANY line. And the staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The ship was clean, but is showing its age, and is in some need of repair and refurbishing. The veranda rooms are adequate, but they seem smaller than most on other lines. The food seemed pretty mundane. Beef dishes were very good, but other choices were pretty unimaginative. The layout for the Lido buffet was awkward, and downright risky when faced with numbers of people in walkers, scooters and wheelchairs--not laid out well. Even the recorded voice in the elevators sounded bored. (No kidding!) The cruise stops were interesting overall, but the quality of the shore excursions seemed to vary widely (WE lucked out, though). Overall, it was a pleasant cruise, with unbelievably smooth seas and good service. We did notice that "hand cleaning" was not emphasized (or supported very well) at all, which may have led to a HUGE number of people getting sick on the long trip.

This was an absolutely fabulous cruise.  We saw so much and had so much fun.  Excursions were great.  Food and service were outstanding.  Our room was perfect for seeing the shoreline all the way and absolutely the best seat in the house for seeing the Panama Canal.  Lectures, entertainment and ship activities were terrific.   Food was delicious with wonderful presentation.  Staff were spectacular.  We had a wonderful time and are so glad we went.  All of our expectations were met

Holland America is the Best. Will be booking my future cruises with them . Best service, great food courteous and friendly staff . Have shared with friends and family. Sister has already booked a cruise. We will travel together with Holland Cruise Lines

Overall this was ok; we'd done Alaska inside passage before, but with a different cruise line, and Holland America definitely got you on and off the ship faster than Carnival did.  Perhaps it was because it was the last cruise of the season and staff were tired, but we never did have room service get an order completely right, and we were charged for things from the mini bar that the previous people who'd had our room opened and then put back in the fridge.  There was an elastic hair tie in the shower with a bunch of hair in it from the previous people, as well as a message left on the phone for them, so I definitely felt like there could have been more attention to detail to things like that.   As far as seeing the inside passage itself, we did most of that at night so didn't get to see what we knew was amazing scenery...  There wasn't a naturalist on board as with our Carnival cruise, so I'm not sure if we missed seeing wildlife or not.

A great cruise to a great destination. The staff and crew of the tour were professional and friendly. The ship was beautiful, the service and food great. The embarkation and disembarkation was done very well no  excessive lines or waiting.  

Excellent service and food was amazing. Better than any other ship sailing to AK.

Glacier Bay was beautiful as well as the other stopovers.

I recommend the drink package and the Italian Restuarant

4th cruiseline and found food to be good but not exceptional with Holland  Had some issues with A/C not working in room and lost water twice. Cabin and dinning staff very helpful but found main desk, rude and unhelpful. The shows were basically the same each night except for one which was only one night and it was the best show I have ever seen on a cruise line.  A percussion  specialty act from so you think you have talent show unable to  remember the name. Re...something, wish more nights with them

I picked Holland-America line because they have a reputation of being the more elegant of the cruise ships. The service was extremely good, the food to die for, the venue was, indeed, very elegant. We had a cabin with a veranda and that was a good choice. 

We had some reservations about the excursions, especially in Juneau. It cost $65 if you buy a bus tour to Mendenhall Glacier and a ticket on the tramway to Mount Robert- if you go out on the dock the same is $10 for the tour to the Glacier and $10 for the tramway.

Another thing that they didn't tell you is the hidden charges of close to $12/per day, per person for "housekeeping", that is making your bed, clean the bathroom aso. I don't know what other cruise liners do, but it would have been better being upfront about this '"xtra" charges.

They had no interest in their jobs they want to give a fake smile and do little as possible.
