last Alaska cruise of the season

Overall this was ok; we'd done Alaska inside passage before, but with a different cruise line, and Holland America definitely got you on and off the ship faster than Carnival did.  Perhaps it was because it was the last cruise of the season and staff were tired, but we never did have room service get an order completely right, and we were charged for things from the mini bar that the previous people who'd had our room opened and then put back in the fridge.  There was an elastic hair tie in the shower with a bunch of hair in it from the previous people, as well as a message left on the phone for them, so I definitely felt like there could have been more attention to detail to things like that.   As far as seeing the inside passage itself, we did most of that at night so didn't get to see what we knew was amazing scenery...  There wasn't a naturalist on board as with our Carnival cruise, so I'm not sure if we missed seeing wildlife or not.

Crew told us that we could hear what the park rangers were talking about on our TV on a certain channel, but every time we went to that channel, there was nothing, even though we could hear them (but not understand them) from our balcony.

definitely do a whale watching tour here - humpbacks were everywhere, and we also saw sea otters!
