Very nice trip/ clean ship

Sail Date: May 14, 2006

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was operated in a very safe and courteous manner. I think that the artwork displayed daily was very uninteresting. Alcohol hand cleanser dispensers were well placed and more of them would be good to stop/slow the spread of sickness/disease. Well organized to get on the ship and off the ship quickly at all ports. All the ports were good choices.

Pros: Top notch helpful employees/quality of food/casino/ports/nice room

Cons: 3% charge for casino cash advance/told 0% prior to trip

Ship Quality
Tours of the inner workings of the ship (ie:engine room, power room, etc) would be nice as was the kitchen tour.
Food and Dining
On an Alaskan cruise a little more of Northwest cuisine would have been appropriate (ie: fish and chips, crab, shellfish) being it is a nautical Northwest cruise.

Juneau, Alaska
Tramway is way too expensive for such a short ride. Downtown walking/shopping has a good variety of things to do. Saloons/taverns have a relaxing "Klondike" feel to them.
Don't Miss: Red dog Saloon is a must experience!
Sitka, Alaska
A good town for walking on your own. Nice shops downtown.
Don't Miss: Sitka Nat'l Historical Park is a must see/totem poles and wooded walking trails
Ketchikan, Alaska
Wonderful town! Lots of quality Russian products for sale. Good town for a seafood meal.
Don't Miss: Creek Street.
Victoria, British Columbia
Great city for shopping, dining, desserts, double decker buses...wax museum, parliament buildings.
Don't Miss: Horse and carriage rides. Walk inside The Empress Hotel.
