Such a disappointment, one problem after another by kattox

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my first cruise, and it certainly is my last with Royal Caribbean. Never again!!! 1. They screwed up our pre-registration for 6pm dining table for 2. Instead they had us listed as a group table. We said no, we had registered for table for 2. So then every evening we had to wait til 6:20 to take a "no show" table. So we were treated as a walkin, never the same table, never the same waiters. 2. Our stateroom attendant, when picking up used bath towels, not only took the used towels from the bathroom, but also took one of our personal towels we had out in our room. 3. On a shore excursions I took with me a small pocket knife so we could buy some local fresh fruit ashore, and be able to cut it up as a snack. When reboarding the ship, I was pulled aside by security which proceeded to take my knife . I pointed out that it was far less than the 4" blade length restriction. It was highly embarrassing to be held out by security, with all the other people going by seeing me being held by security. After demanding a manager and challenging security for confiscating my pocket knife, and questioning how they could justify confiscating my knife when I was in full compliance with Royal's rules, they finally gave me back my knife and let me go from security. How humiliating. The security manager told me it was obvious I knew the RC rules, and he would work with his staff to better inform them. 4. At the end of the cruise and leaving the ship, within 5 minutes of retrieving my luggage I saw they had damaged my suitcase. This was a new hard sided suitcase bought specifically for the cruise. They put a 10" crack in the side, apparently from mishandling it. I had just passed through security so I could not get back to cruise personnel. So that very moment I phoned Royal Caribbean. Because I had passed through security I was not allowed to get a "Personal Property Damage" form, and without that form, they stated the full compensation they could offer me was $50. That was a brand new $199. suitcase. Why would I ever again go Royal Caribbean. So sad this was my experience with them as my first cruise. I had high expectations of Royal Caribbean, but instead this was a very disappointing experience. Never again.

A very nice and excellent cruise by samueloscar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

First time in this ship. No sail away party, no captains reception. This ship have a very helpful crew. The cruise director is funny but it only shows up in few activities. The captain only shows up in the final night in the royal promenade for a couple of minutes. Overall, I have a great cruise.

POOR and INEXPERIENCED Service ALL AROUND by TP4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Pros: Buffet food: good variety, plentiful, tasty Ports: Visited 5 ports in 6 days, taxis that met us at ports completely gauging tourists, we walked past them and found other transport each time ( $125 USD for a taxi to drive 4 people 40 minutes there and back) Cons: Service: Room cleaner was awful, didn't know what he was doing and made new mistakes everyday Medical Team: Rude, wrote wrong diagnosis on receipt Customer service team: didn't call back and took over an hour to get through to on phone prior to the trip Dining room food: extremely slow - 2.5 hr wait, food cold and not good, buffet much better Room: No noise control, we could hear every little cough next door Shower: Water not hot until we called service team, whole unit was replaced Safe: Not working TV: No remote control Excursions: 2 cancelled at last minute 2 adult female world travellers

A Little Rough Around The Edges by Lumbearjack

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

Better than staying at home. Cold weather cruises are not as enjoyable as warm ones. Older ships in the fleet seem to be training grounds for new employees. Bring documentation of OBC's in case they do not show up. "Diamond Plus", and/or "Jr. Suites" that used to make you feel special, seem to be just as good as "Gold" sailing in an inside cabin.

Great Canada/New England cruise by Budcancruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

With the exception of the food, I loved this cruise and would do it again. My humble opinion is that from MY experience, the food is much better on all the other major cruise lines. That’s MY opinion and the food is about 50% of the reason I love to cruise. Other than that, Voyager and her crew are great!

not great except for amazing crew by marymoon61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This was my first cruise. I booked this particular cruise because it was right out of Boston, where I live, and because I believe I got a good financial deal on it. Now that I know I like cruising, though, I would not take another cruise on this cruise ship. Not really sure if the cruise line is my thing either.

fall did not fall by jblank2123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

This was supposed to be a fall foliage cruise. The weather was not bad it rained on a sea day, the other days were ok. The ship had a small casino that needs a face lift. The shows were not very good.

Enjoyed this cruise by norbe

We enjoyed it. We overlooked some of the shortcomings, and made the best of it. Ice skating show was the best entertainment.

Great Second Cruise by Noncapisco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

This cruise was great 👍 though all of us who were doing back to back cruises 🛳 had to get tested for Covid on the ship because we were going back to Canada 🇨🇦. As I understand it, this requirement was dropped after our cruise. As far as I know, everyone passed.

Awful by Xasmar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

Never again. This trip has been so bad im debating getting off at the next port. The only good thing is the food..thats it. Nothong else. Theres no crowd my age jist about anywhere. The one crowd i did find were just as disappointed as me. If you like a floating nursing home with a bunch of elderly complaining about nonsense. Hop on board!

Had to run away from Hurricane Fiona and as a result of the rocky weather had to cancel last port. Big bummer since there was but much to do onboard

Very Good Cruise by Noncapisco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

Considering I caught Covid just 13 days before my cruises, I was delighted just to be on the ship 🚢. Thanks to a doctor who prescribed steroids, I was able to test negative in time to go. This was my first time sailing ⛵️ on Voyager so, it was fun exploring the ship. Also, they did a luncheon for solo cruisers twice which was very nice. Overall, I had a great time and was very glad I was staying for 1 more cruise 🛳.

Best of Scandinavia by Cruiselovers70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas

This was our 52nd anniversary back-to-back Baltic Cruise from Stockholm, with stops in Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The first leg of the cruise was fantastic as reported in my previous review. Unfortunately, the second leg did no go as planned. On day 2 of the second week my wife got tested positive for COVID and I got tested positive on the 4th day. We were quarantined for the remainder of the cruise. We do not blame Royal Caribbean for what has happened. We were fully aware that there were risks associated with taking this cruise and we do not regret booking this trip. Royal is giving us a prorated refund for the days that we were in quarantine. This review describes our experiences during the quarantine and the protocols that we had to follow.
