Review summary

We enjoyed the ship more than the ports. (On some cruises, we enjoy the ports more than the ship.) A nice new ship that was well designed. The size of 1200 passengers was ideal. The food and wine was exceptional.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Definitely crowded but the check in line steadily moved.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I have been on seven other cruise lines. Oceania has the best specialty restaurants and grand dining room by far. Their buffet is on par with most other cruise lines. Enjoyed the Barista for custom coffees.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed a cooking class and also enjoyed watching a cooking demonstration. The guest speaker covered an interesting array of topics. Excellent library on board.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedian was entertaining. The stage show was on par with most other ships we have been on.

Children's Programs

Not traveling with children.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Attentive staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Our preferred size of ship is 900-1500 passengers. Vista, at 1200 passengers, was well designed, less than 1 year old. You could tell much thought went into the design.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good attention to detail in the design of the cabins. Enjoyed the balcony stateroom. The bathroom shower was a good size. Some other ships have very small showers.

Ship tip

Rarely do we pay more for an upgraded stateroom as we feel it isn't needed.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Our cruise began and ended here. No shore excursions were done.

St. John's, Antigua

4 out of 5
Very scenic. Our shore excursion was an exploration of the island.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Castries, St. Lucia

Gustavia, St. Barthelemy Did not visit port

Weather prevented the tenders from operating so this port was canceled.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
Our time ashore was very limited as we left midafternoon. Would have loved another 2 or 3 hours to explore more of San Juan.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
Shore excursion, Damajaguas Nature, didn't quite match with our expectations based on the description of the shore excursion.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The disembarkation process was efficient.
