Review summary

Loved it! Having never visited the area before, I was hoping to experience lots of local food, beverages and hospitality - and overall, the whole trip provided many wonderful experiences that I'll never forget❤️

Embarkation

Extremely quick and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Generally really good - I just wish that RC would stop using artificial cream in their desserts and cakes, it's ghastly stuff!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Hard to rate as most of my activities centred around laying on a sunlounger with a book or playing cards with friends in the Solarium - usually with a cocktail🍹

Solarium

5 out of 5

My favourite place - great Bar staff (Park Cafe staff could have been a bit friendlier), no kids and no over crowding. Perfect for leading around with my favourite hot weather cocktail .... a Mudslide😋🍹

Casino Royale

2 out of 5

This could be a great place, if only Royal Caribbean would ban smoking. Although it's only permitted in part of the casino, is impossible to avoid the smoke and can often even extend beyond the casino.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Ok, but a little too loud

Children's Programs

Didn't take children on the trip

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most were excellent - attentive and friendly

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love the smaller ships and found Vision very well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was clean and comfortable - my only request would be to have a pillow menu

Ship tip

Don't expect loads of onboard activities, especially those available on larger ships. Vision is perfect for people who don't want crowds or be around loads of kids!

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Stayed for 5 days prior to the cruise and loved it - great way to start our holiday.

Valletta, Malta

Did the blue grotto tour - lovely half day excursion in very hot weather

Santorini, Greece

4 out of 5
Went to a vineyard - had better vineyard experiences in other places, but enjoyed a little free time to wander and enjoy a local breakfast

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
Loved the tavernas on the waterfront

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

3 out of 5
First time in Athens, so enjoyed some of the history - but found this first rather sad, as Greece's economic recession is very obvious. Without the various ancient attractions, there is little else to recommend Athens as a visitor destination.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

4 out of 5
Did Some of the key tourist things, but biggest highlight was an inpromptu visit to an open air restaurant for what turned into a leisurely and wonderful expertise, aided by great service and a fabulous operatic busker!

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We avoided the tourist areas and spent the day at a Tuscan farmhouse eating and drinking the local products. Fabulous experience with lots of wine, lemoncello and grappa😍

Marseille (Provence), France

Did a walking food tour. Quite interesting, knowledgeable and friendly guide - but could have had a better selection of venues and more generous taste offerings.

Disembarkation
