Review summary

From a cold New Jersey day to the warm A B C islands and Mexico is quite a difference. The two weeks passed quickly. Would do it again and skip Progresso.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Was a continuing cruiser all registration completed for us. Got off went thru customs and got back on after zero count completed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food and service in main dining room was good. One night at Chops Grill very good. Windjammer for breakfast (slept late most days).

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There was always something going on, too many activities to list. It was hard to find a quiet spot on the ship because of the activities. Only 6 children on board.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Ho Hum. They no longer have the acrobats in the 4 story centrum. The equipment is still there but hasn't been use in a while.

Children's Programs

I don't have any children. There were only 6 on board.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Warm, smiling, helpful staff and officers. Captain Marek was visible and approachable all voyage and a good singer.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Vision is a 20 year old ship and it's design and layout is typical of ships built in 1998. She is in excellent condition and shinny clean everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
4512 is near the bow on the starboard side. Every thing worked. Bed was comfortable. Cabin and bath were clean every time we returned to our cabin. Noise from ships thrusters and anchor were loud when docking, sometimes early in the morning.

Ship tip

Don't stay on deck 4 forward, if you like to sleep late,

If it's your first trip do Stingray City, Turtle Farm or snorkel.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
I always find something fun to do here. It was a busy day with 6 ships in town. Cozumel has adjusted and can handle the load.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Do an excursion not much to see.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

Nice beach up and down the Malicon. Locals will rip you off if you use US$. They used 13.5 pesos to the dollar the real rate was actually 18 pesos to the dollar. Only use Mexican Pesos or credit card.

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
Hotels, restaurants, parking and tourist shopping nearby. Used a local airport transfer company to transfer to Hobby Airport in Houston.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Royal Caribbean did a good job disembarking. US Customs was 2 hours behind. this was Vision of the Seas first visit they were not prepared. Hope they do a better job in the future.
