Review summary

We recently returned from a 15 day European tour on RCL's Vision of the Seas. The ship had been refurbished only 7 months ago and it was beautiful! offered an inexpensive suite upgrade, so we took advantage of the deal and were upgraded to a grand suite. All I can say is FABULOUS! We had a party for 17 people in our suite and everyone had a place to sit and enjoy a good time. The ports of call itinerary was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed each excursion. RCL was well organized which made the logistics of moving several hundred people through each port easy. Only negative comment concerns the food. The meats were tough and fish dishes appeared to be frozen fish stick quality.

We had a concierge on the Suite level floor who was superb. Always helpful. Only person that we encountered that was not helpful was the maitre D in the dining room.

I would skip "Alfama." It was dirty and was meant to drive tourists into their local stores to buy souvenirs.

Instead of Cadiz, we took the Seville tour. Our guide was great and the sites were most interesting.

Did not expect this port to be as good as it was. Loved the city. Our tour of the Galecian vineyards was cancelled since the harvest was early. We walked the town of Vigo on our own. It was easy to find our way around.

We toured on our own instead of taking the RCL sponsored tour. I would highly recommend as it gave us enough time to see the sites we wanted to see. However, I would not recommend walking the city unless you are in very good physical condition.

Don't Miss: National Archaeology Museum

I can not say enough about the visit to the Normandy WWII Beach sites, museum and American soldier grave site. Tour guide was a wealth of knowledge.
