This cruise was the relaxation I needed to get away from it all! The river cruise we took offered more history and culture and I found what I liked most this time was a bit of the history along with time in the water! (It was soooo hot and humid). I liked being pampered and served, trips to the nordic spa and cocktails included in the Silver Spirits package. Rarely a line at any station for any reason and know kids to dodge! So enjoyable and rejuvenating!

Everything was excellent. Definitely did not go hungry!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I loved that there was space and availability in the pool at all times, as well as the Nordic spa!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Singing and entertainment was great, but much of it was meant for an older crowd. We still enjoyed!
Children's Programs
No kids on the ship!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff on Viking is always above and beyond.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Such a spacious and clean ship! Not like other cruises whose carpet reminds me of casinos - to hide the dirt!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This was a basic cabin on this ship and better than any cabin I've had on any other cruise line. could have had a few more drawers; but overall, so nice!!!
Ship tip
In the Restaurant, if you find a waiter you like, you can request them on subsequent visits. (We didn't know this until the last day!)
I wish I had more time and a tour of the old town. We also disembarked here and I thought we'd have the day to walk around before heading to the airport, but we were stuck in a convention hotel to await our flight after disembarkation. The fort tour in San Juan was okay, but did not give me a feel for the city.
We loved our excursion to Jost Van Dyke. Beach Day! I'm not a beach bunny, but like being in the water. Tried the Pain Killer where it was created, too.
Did the included tour and it was good. Liked sitting at the outdoor bar near the port. Didn't see any monkeys in the wild, but got to do the touristy thing and held some domesticated ones.
We upgraded to the Tropical Gardens of Barbados which included a tour of Hunte's Gardens and a flower forest. It was hot and humid, but lovely. My husband found the tour rather demanding in terms of keeping your footing.
I upgraded to a tour called Freshwater Lake & Hot Pools. I loved this because it was such a small group (9) and on our way up the mountain, our guide gave us so much great info regarding the history and culture of this little-talked-about island! Then I got to relax in a sulphur spa and apply the local mud - an experience like no other.
I did the tranquil snorkeling tour. Some avid snorkelers/scuba-divers on the tour were not too impressed. I was happy to just be in the water and see some fish and ruins I hadn't see before. Such a tranquil day!
The included tour was the worst ever. The guide/driver was fine, pointing out sites along the way. However, it basically was a climb to the mountaintop STORE to buy trinkets. I did go with the standard banana daiquiri and it was actually excellent, for something I'd never order otherwise, but as an excursion, I'm glad it's one I didn't pay additional for...
It's very organized, but since my flight wasn't until the afternoon, I would have rather had some time to explore the town rather than sit in a hotel ballroom for 3 hours (thought it was nice that we had snacks and beverages)
