I sound critical but all in all was good. I was just expecting more based on hype and advertising.

it was our second river cruise on Viking finishing the second half, you will always compare it to the first which is hard to do, both cruises were excellent overall.

This was supposed to be our first Viking River cruise in 2019 but got cancelled due to COVID. We're very happy to finally do this trip. It did not disappoint. The Lipizzaner Stable tour in Vienna was fantastic.

The Viking River Cruise was amazing!! We highly recommend this cruise to anyone interested in European history and beautiful architecture. The Viking staff could not have been any more friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

The entire experience with Viking was wonderful and I highly recommend this company for a river cruise. The staff, the food, the ship, the daily activities, the included tours and many optional tours were all wonderful. I could have stayed another two weeks and I hope to experience an ocean voyage next (along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea) based on feedback from others on this ship. There were only 150 guests, so we all became friends. The sun deck and lounge were great spaces to relax and meet new friends. We were on the lower level so only had a small window (upper two levels had balconies). We did not miss the balcony and since we were often docked next to other boats and while sleeping or dressing the curtains are closed, unless one plans to stay in the room a lot, I think it is unnecessary as the state rooms are the same size.

I would suggest the last half of the trip with crew of the first ship Aegir

This is our first river cruise and first time traveling in Europe. On this cruise we had learned a lot of knowledge about the cities we had visited. Also river cruise always stop at heart of cities which gave us much more time to stroll in the cities. Enjoyed the Cruise and the people on the cruise.

The ship wasn't in working condition but they allowed us to board. The air conditioning wasn't working properly. When we returned from the first day tour they told us several things which were not the whole truth. We then set out with faulty air conditioning and a ship unable to make speed. On the third day we reached the stop that was supposed to be the second day and were disembarked and put on busses. We had two long and uncomfortable days travel and since some people were sick the illnesses spread and we became sick. The ship never should have left the first port w/o being repaired and we should have been informed of exactly what was going on. Viking management leaves a lot to be desired imo. The crew did what they could under the circumstances.

Good, would have been better if nature co operated with rain so that we could sail down the rivers.

We loved the great hotels where we stayed, while on land:  Prague Hilton, Budapest Hilton and the Bucharest Inter-Continental.  The ship was beautiful and the staff was high class- providing exquisite service.  The tours were by local guides and brought you the history and culture of the people- which we found to be wonderful.

The tours, visiting with local citizens that not only shared each country's history and culture, but shared their personal and family perspectives on culture and recent history...making it come alive for me!

This was our first river cruise, and Viking certainly lived up to it;s reputation of being one of the finest.  We were very happy with the ship, staff, itinerary and side trips.  From the time we were picked up at the airport by the Viking staff until our departure, we were well cared for both on and off the ship.  The cruise director, captain and crew, waiters, room stewards, and the entire staff did everything possible to make sure that we were enjoying our trip.  

Our visit to the Lazar Horse Farm outside Budapest was the perfect end to a wonderful vacation.  This was my new best friend, it was love at first sight.

Myra - what a wonderful experience....no better way to experience the granduer of Europe with professional treatment the whole way! Can't wait to do this again!
