Review summary

Desi from Indonesia and Kiran from India served us each night in the formal dining room on Deck 4. They were the brightest spots on our cruise. They took time for small talk and shared enough about their lives that we felt a warm connection with them by the end of the week. We really enjoyed the ship experience and made a lot of wonderful memories with our kids and grandkids.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The windjammer was sometimes crowded and sometimes it was too warm, but I understand that there isn't much that can be done about that because of the number of people on the cruise and the direction of the sunlight. But the food options were plentiful and the food delicious. The formal evening dining was fun, and enhanced by the excellent service of Desi from Indonesia and Kiran from India. We felt that we had formed a friendly connection with them by the time that week was over.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the pools with our grandkids. We found it inconvenient that the 14-month-old was not allowed in the same pool as our 3-year-old. It was impossible for one adult to allow both kids to go swimming when the life guards kept kicking us out of one pool or the other. But the kids still enjoyed it.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
A crew member named Sammy tried to connect with my daughter inappropriately, following her around, asking what she was doing later that night, and giving her his WhatsApp number. We reported this to guest services who got the security personnel involved. They took it seriously and removed the crew member from public facing duties for the rest of our trip. This allowed my daughter to be comfortable for the rest of the trip.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
No complaints! The crew was constantly cleaning. In the public bathrooms, the toilet paper was folded to a neat point, which made it obvious that a crew member had recently cleaned it and taken the time to add that neat touch.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was slightly smaller than was comfortable, but we know that the solution to this is to buy a suite. We utilized the drawers and closets which helped a lot. If there was a spot to put empty suit cases for the duration of the cruise, that would be helpful.

Ship tip

This is a large ship with a ton to do and see. You will not feel claustrophobic, because the ship is so large. You won't even see all the people who sail with you.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
Easy boarding process.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Easy disembarking and embarking. We didn't do an excursion. We simply took an Uber to Target for some last minute supplies. This was a 20 minute drive.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
There are plenty of shops selling goods near the port. Also lots of restaurants.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The dock is large and spacious and more than adequate to handle the massive ships. It is not too far of a walk to the shore. The on-shore staff (which came from the ship) which was serving the food was very attentive as always. The food was delicious.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It went quite fast. It was really helpful that we could do a face scan instead of producing our passports.
