Review summary

Overall, we had a fabulous time and would highly recommend Royal Caribbean and especially Symphony of the Seas. They certainly do their best to make your experience something that you can remember with smiles.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
My sister and I purchased the key, and both of us have mobility issues. A couple of nice young men brought us wheelchairs and whizzed us thru the check in and required safety program and into the dining room for our special The Key luncheon. I don't think it took us more than 10-15 minutes from luggage drop off to being seated at our table in the dining room!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Why anyone would want to pay extra for "special dining" I don't know. We ate dinner every evening in the dining room. The choices were numerous and the food was fantastic. Breakfast every morning on our balcony.

Room Service

5 out of 5

We used room service for breakfast every day except for disembarking day. We filled out our order form and hung it outside our door each evening, and breakfast was there the next morning for us to enjoy while enjoying the view from our balcony.

Sorrento's

5 out of 5

If pizza is your craving, check out Sorrento's. They have numerous different kinds available any time you want it.

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

If you are looking for a tasty, juicy burger while on your cruise, this is the place to go. And their milkshakes are great, too.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We didn't take part in any of the activities on the ship. Too many other things to see and do!

Shore Excursions

5 out of 5

These folks want to help you enjoy each port and will do all they can to see that you are able to see the sights, go to the beach, or take part in whatever activity that interests you.

Guest Services

5 out of 5

The folks who work in Guest Services all want to make your cruise "smooth sailing". The young man who spoke helped us out with something the first night, gave us his card and told us if there was ANYTHING that we needed or had questions about, just to come and see him.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed the shows. Hairspray was fantastic !!

Royal Theatre

5 out of 5

We saw Hairspray in the Royal Theatre. It was as good as any show I've ever seen.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward went above and beyond to make sure we had all that we needed/wanted. Same goes for our waiter and assistant waiter. Whenever we would pass any of them, they would smile and greet us by name.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The only problem we had was trying to catch an elevator with room enough for us and our two scooters at times when everyone was trying to get to the same place.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was spacious, plenty of room for our scooters to park and charge overnight. Lots of storage for clothing, etc. The balcony was really nice for having a leisurely breakfast and enjoying the ocean.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
We did an accessible excursion, but arriving so late in the day, the sun was setting before we made it halfway thru, so we were not able to enjoy a lot of the sites.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We paid for the all day pass at the Coco Beach Club. The upgraded menu was worth the money. We weren't told that there were trams that could carry scooters. Wish we had known that ahead of time. We found out about that when we were leaving. We did wish that the shopping area was accessible by our scooters. We tried doing a little shopping, but only made it to two of the little shops before we had to sit down and wait for the return tram.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were told we needed to leave the scooters in the room, which would have been a problem since neither of us can walk far without pain. Change in plans ! They told us to drive the scooters to the On Air place on Deck 5, and they would take the scooters back for us. Wheelchairs were brought there, and again we were whizzed right on thru, picking up a porter along the way to load up our luggage, and right on to the parking garage. Before we could get ourselves out of the wheelchairs, the porter had our luggage loaded, and we were on our way ! So efficient.
