Review summary

If you're traveling somewhere where the main language is different than your own, learn a few words, like "Excuse me".

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast, smooth and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was great. Not much available after 9pm unless you want to pay. Hardly ate in the Windjammer

Cafe Promenade

4 out of 5

Miss the ham and swiss croissants and the R&R cookies. The egg salad sandwiches were very spicey

Sorrento's

4 out of 5

Good pizza. Didn't know if they still do custom pizza, it was too busy to ask. Pretty much the only late night food

Solarium Bar

5 out of 5

Fast and worth the walk from the pool deck!

Park Cafe

4 out of 5

It's changed since we were on the Allure in 2011. Not exactly custom tossed salads now. Panini took a long time. Nice location

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I didn't do any of the slides, etc. Very limited hours and there were different rules at the top than on the rule boards. Three hours of skating for the whole week, all on the last day when we were at Coco Cay

The Perfect Storm℠ waterslide trio

3 out of 5

One rule board was half hidden behind chairs. Husband wasn't allowed to wear his glasses when with a tight strap. That wasn't on the rule board

Zip Line

3 out of 5

Kids had a hard time getting to it when open. Wasted a lot of time because they had to come back for socks (they had the closed toe shoes so why socks?!)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage and ice shows were phenomenal. Disappointed we couldn't see the ship band in Jazz on 4 because it seats only about 50.

Children's Programs

My teens just didn't want to go for some reason

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
My mom's room steward was excellent. Saw him multiple times a day. Our steward? I met her once, husband met her 2 or 3 times. It was bare basic service-- empty TP not replaced during turn down, a glass placed on the floor (inside) near the door, didn't see it in the dark.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Not enough pool space! Capacity of about 100 for 6500 people. Crazy busy. Carpets were surprisingly stained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Fine. Actually had empty drawers. Need a plug on both sides of the bed though

Ship tip

It can be much fuller than the numbers you usually hear. It is has a double capacity of 5600 but max 6500. It felt super full. Elevators were often very busy. Pools packed. Etc

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Did a private tour. Nice to see a port before the cruise lines ruin it. Lots to see on the island

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
They did a nice job on this port but it was very hard to find the exit!

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Hate the port area. Hot, limited shade, assertive shop workers. "Beach" was not a beach

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Good food! Nice pool! Did need more chairs around the pool.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very hot in the baggage area. We were told the bus shuttle was "almost full and about to go". It was maybe 2/3 full. We were told it was only going to the airport. It stopped at a hotel first. Took us an hour from getting on board to getting to the airport.
