Review summary

If you are not planning to book a on shore excursion most of these locations are working ports and shuttles or taxis will need to be taken, all come with charges. Doing research on the places that you wish to go so that you know exactly what you are required to organise as the traffic in almost all locations can be chaotic. This is a great ship and all of the entertainment is worth watching, even if musicals are not your thing. Try and see as much and experience all that you can.

Embarkation

We got on in civitavecchia, we found others who were lost in the port. Signs were nowhere to be seen. Once on the ship, which was a very quick check in, we were not given any real information on what was happening, where to go or what to do. The staff were friendly and helpful though. The app for the cruise did not work from our embarkation spot. When we stopped at Barcelona where 5000 out of 6000 people boarded it was well organised with many people out to help people manoeuvre over the ship.

Ship tip

Definitely worth doing but take cash and remember it is an American ship and taxes are added to the advertised price. Take plenty of cash and watch your account.
