I would say it was a very good cruise, and Princess definitely offered a quality experience (maybe just not targeted at my age group). I got to see and do many great things.
Embarkation

Was fast and straightforward. Don't pay to have your medallion shipped to your house it's not worth it.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was good, and I enjoyed the rotating deserts in the Eatery. I still think Royal Carribean has better food, though. The bread rolls in the MDR were very hard, could use them as weapons on some days.
American Diner
3 out of 5
America food and America portions. The Mississippi mud pie and colossal fries are not to be missed. The shrimp and grits I had was massive, more like grits and shrimp.
Lido Grill
5 out of 5
Very good hamburgers and gyros.
World Fresh Marketplace
4 out of 5
The Eatery had good food, but it didn't seem to change much for lunch and dinner except for the desserts.
Gelateria
3 out of 5
Ok gelato for an ok price.
The International Café
5 out of 5
Great place to grab a snack at any time.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
As a younger person, I found the ship didn't have much to do for its size. There was also no dedicated nightclub it was just the DJ playing music in the atrium. The ropes course and skyrail were never open the entire cruise. The gym was well stocked, it even had a smithing machine.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
I enjoyed the pirate production show more than the fair one. The guy they had doing rock covers was great. There is no nightclub.

Cabin / Stateroom

The balcon cabin we had was very nice. There is plenty of space and a large TV with lots of movies to choose from. The TV did malfunction a few times, requiring us to call guest services to restart it from their console.
Ship tip
Target market is more older people so don't expect much for kids and young adults.
We are frequent Princess cruisers (no. 20 will be next January on the Sun) and we choose Princess when we travel alone because of the service and the dining experiences and choices. Having said that, I agree with the comments about the age of the passengers. Our perception is that when we board the ship we lower the average age of the passengers and we are in our mid-70's! When we travel with our kids and grandkids, we go on Royal Caribbean. We did take one Princess Cruise last summer in the Mediterranean and did notice and enjoy the younger crowd including more children and young adults (upper teens and twenties).
I didn't fail to do research as I had no choice in the ship or line. The cruise was organized by my parents (it was a family cruise), and I gave my opinion of the experience I had.
Thanks for sharing. I think it’s a good idea to try a few cruise lines to see what the best fit is. We are sailing Princess next month for an Alaska sea/land tour and it will be our first time with Princess. So many reviews with good feedback, just like yours.
It's obvious you failed to do much research into this cruise, since it's no secret that Princess caters to the over 50 crowd. The new Sun Princess has a few more amenities for younger cruisers once the ship is fully operational.
