Review summary

they knew there was no Santorini visit and did not change or advised me to make it my option to go on this trip ,half of the ship doesn't work, dj was not a dj i think they didn't even have music on his laptop not even requesting the music they would play it. i don't think is right from such a big company to do this to people, feel very disappointed... 19th floor were the zip line and water slides were at was closed, the Dome was closed, the acrobat show never happened. advise do not go on this ship. they should have the ship working fully

Why did you give food a one star just because the dome was closed and you couldn’t go to Santorini? You need to elaborate as to why you gave the food a one star. And please elaborate why you gave the staff a one star. I’ve been watching YouTube videos of travel agents who have been on this ship on the inaugural sailing and thought the ship was amazing and the food was excellent. The staff was excellent. You’re the first person who is given the ship a two star please elaborate besides saying you couldn’t go to Santorini and the dome was closed that has nothing to do with the staff or the food.

I understand your frustration, but I cannot see why you gave 1 star for food and dining, just because Santorini was skipped and/or deck 19 was closed. I was on the 9th of March cruise and I found the food pretty good. I just find it so interesting that missing Santorini seems to ruin your whole vacation and it is totally understandable since you were really looking forward to visiting it. While for me it was a rather a pleasure as I’d been to Santorini before and it was such a disappointment, it is an overrated tourist trap, therefore I pretty enjoyed Sun Princess. Hope that you will have a chance in the future to visit Santorini.

Agree, I would never go on an inaugural sailing either. We are booked, but not until January 2025. Figure the ship will still be like new, and things will be figured out.

Sorry you were disappointed but I would never sail on a new ship in the first 3 months. Too many things to go wrong

From what I heard, the reason Santorini is being canceled is due to the cable car being refurbished, so the only way to the top is to take the long steep trail. Also, the Sun Princess does have waterslides, but they are open, along with a ropes course and a aerial track that goes around the top deck. Princess is probably catering to a younger demograph to encourage more families to cruise with them. I was suppose to be on the second sailing, but was canceled. I do think Princess should have done a better job at reimbursement of expenses for people who chose to go on those two canceled cruises. I'm out $400 for hotels which I believe should have been refunded since I was not the one to cancel cruise.

When a brand new ship has inaugural sailing some areas may not be fully functional. The 19th floor activities just opened as of this week, Dome was open approx. 2 weeks ago. Santorini stop was not possible due to safety issues and the could not embark. Sorry you had a rough experience and hope you try another time. Many thanks for your review it is always appreciated.

You mentioned zip line and water slides, the Sun Princess has no water slides or zip lines that I have read. I understand most items still unfinished will be available by April 27th. I hope you enjoy your next cruise.
