Review summary

The cruise was nice, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I thought it would be a nicer room and bigger balcony. The entertainment we went to was good, but there weren't many options. The food was awful, it was all food I don't like, and not enough variety. The excursions were OK, but again, not enough variety. It was all waterfall hikes or beaches, which, get boring after a while, and the waterfall hikes are challenging because it's the rainy season. It was nice to see Fiji, but, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.

Embarkation

Very quick and easy, they had plenty of staff, no long lines, very easy to board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was awful. Every nigh dinner was nothing i liked to eat. Maybe two of the 13 nights I looked forward too. The service was pretty slow, but got a little faster when we said we were in a hurry. We started off with a table of 9, by the end, no one showed up, we didn't either, since the food wasn't good. The buffet was 50/50. Breakfast was nothing special in the dining room. Lunch was OK. For a 13 day cruise, they needed more variety in the dining room. The Share restaurant was really good, however, and was our best meal.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not many activities to do. Hot tub was OK, but, the jets never really worked properly...

Entertainment

Some of the entertainment in the evening was good, but there wasn't much to do during the rest of the sea days.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The customer service staff was great, but not all staff was. My husband felt that the waiters at the dining room didn't want to be there (which I can't blame them). I didn't have too much of an issue with the waiters. The cruise director was good, but I didn't get much personality from the other staff during the entertainment. Our stateroom attendant was also very nice and friendly. The customer service staff were very helpful. We had an issue with a photo staff who was rude to us during a raffle, and they compensated us by offering us two free photos and then we had chocolates and champagne waiting for us in our room later that night, which we thought was a very sweet gesture. They customer service were always helpful to address any concerns we had. We also had issues with the internet not being as advertised, and the internet director discounted our rate to make up for it.

Ship Quality

The theater didn't have enough seating and one night we had to stand in the back the whole show because there were no seats. Some areas felt more updated and spacious.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabins were the smallest I've been in and a tiny balcony, you barely could fit both of us out there at the same time. It felt very old and not remodeled recently, even though it was in dry dock in July. The balcony was very disappointing for the price we spent. It was very narrow. The bathroom was also very tiny and there was barely enough room to dry off in there after a shower. I did like that they had a big flatscreen TV in there and the on demand options were nice.

Ship tip

Get used to a small room and small balcony.

We went to Amedee Island, it was nice, but, at the end it started raining. It was also a long time at the Island with not much to do there. The food was good. By the end, everyone was ready to leave. Also, it's a speed boat that takes you to the Island, so if you get seasick, take something. It was a very pretty Island to walk around.

Dravuni Island, Fiji

There were no excursions, it was just a small island, but it was really good for snorkeling.

Suva, Fiji

We did a walk to the waterfall, it was a little challenging, I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like active tours. The waterfall/fresh water pool wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. It was very wet and muddy since it was in the rain forest.

Savusavu, Fiji

We did another waterfall hike. I would have preferred to do a different tour, but, it was too late to switch at that point. It was nicer though than the last one and the drive was beautiful. This stop had a tender though, and we misunderstand how to meet for the tour and was late. Thankfully they waited for us.

Lautoka, Fiji Islands

I booked this excursion through united excursions and it was a MUCH better price. I really liked the mud pool spa, the hot springs was like a warm bath and very relaxing. You don't need to pay the extra $130 for the Kava ceremony. This was all we needed.

Mare Isle, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia

The first excursion we took to Eni was really nice. It was nice to see their little town and the beach was really pretty and great for snorkeling. It was a small group so it wasn't very crowded. The second beach, that you took a bus too, wasn't nearly as nice. It was big and crowded and it was windy and cold. We would have preferred to have more time at the first place. We didn't stay long at the other beach and left after 30 minutes.

Disembarkation

Easy and efficient.
