Review summary

This was our first time on Princess and our first time in Alaska. We will definitely do both again. I use the word Beautiful several time in this review, I'm sorry there is just no other word for Alaska.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Pretty fast. Walking in a line then all of a sudden you're on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was exceptional drinks were expensive. Our favorite dessert was the Blueberry Roulade. (Not to be missed) Pizza, Fish tacos, hotdogs and hamburgers all very good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center was older but clean.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I am rating this high because of the Room steward and waiter w e had. The Captain was a thrill and funny and very personable, and would come through the buffet every morning to say hello. He would end all of his transmissions with a high pitched and playful "BYE BYE". If I could drop my score 1/2 a star it would be because of one of the head waiters. (making us feel like we were bothering him because we wanted to sit in a certain section). The cruise director was every where on the ship and really quite helpful and funny.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All the common areas were well laid out and clean The main Piazza seemed a bit small.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean, but small and the shower was very small. The bed was very comfortable, and we had plenty for storage

Ship tip

On every ship there is going to be someone (staff) that is having a bad day or you rub them the wrong way. Stay away from that person and enjoy yourself.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

4 out of 5
Vancouver was our Embarkation port. We flew in the night before, but didn't do any thing

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Small town we just walked around. We will go back and do The Deadliest Catch next year.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

5 out of 5
We could not get to the Twin Sawyer Glacier do to the amount of ice in the fjord, but Tracy Arm is beautiful with lots of bear, eagle and whale sightings.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We went to Mendenhall Glacier, The Salmon hatchery and the Salmon Bake, The salmon bake was just a perfect end to our day in Juneau.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We went on the White Pass Rail trip and it was very beautiful. After the train trip we found a small fish and chips place that served Halibut Fish and Chips that were fabulous.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

We have been to Victoria several time so we stayed on board to pack for disemarkation.

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

Just transfered to the airport in Seattle

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was flawless. We used the Port Valet program and our bag was home with no problems. Seattle airport was a nightmare; DON"T HAVE AN EARLY FLIGHT, you will miss it.
