Review summary

We had fun moments, but we were disappointed in the food, cabin, and time at each port. I doubt we cruise again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet was unimpressive. It reminded us of Golden Corral in Oklahoma. Food was okay. Main dining room was much better. Had better food and great service.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Musical shows, magician, and piano bar.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We were expecting staff to be friendlier.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Our cabin was hot. We reported it but unfortunately it was never fixed.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Cabin was hot which made sleeping and getting ready dreadful. Cabin was tight and hard for 2 decent size people to maneuver. The beds were comfortable.

Ship tip

The buffet isn’t the best and the entertainment closes down by 11:30 at night so you must go to the club at the back of the ship for drinks and entertainment.

I like Golden Corral. A ships buffet has much more choices and different style foods but you are right, about the same quality as a decent mainstream buffet on land. Which is amazing knowing the cruise lines budget about the same cost as one Golden Corral meal for one passengers whole day of food. Sounds like cruising is not for you. Better try something else.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience. Buffet / Banquet quality food is About all you can expect when they are feeding several thousand people three meals a day seven days every week for months on end. I’m not sure how much you have cruised before, but the cabin sizes are fairly similar on all ships unless you upgrade to a larger suite. As far is not enough time in the ports, that is an issue with the round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle. They have to shorten the port times to be able to get back to Seattle and also work in the stop at Victoria to comply with the Jones act of stopping at a foreign port. A one-way or 10 day itinerary will generally give you more time in the ports.
