This cruise was beautifully planned. One exceptional feature was the Piazza and the splendid entertainment....especially the Static Band. Very wonderful music and total engagement of the guests. What Talent!! The other music venues were great as well.

excellent trip on the new ship-Sky Princess. All ports of call interesting, with good shore excursions, except we would have loved to have more time at the Chichen itza ruins. by rvasa

Disappointed week by Jhenares

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sky Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

So my house was flooded but we decided to continue with our vacation scheduled for December 2019 at Princess with scuba diving excursions in each port, we thought it would be a good rest after all the problems with the water pipes in our house. We boarded the boat in Fort Lauderdale and its crew looking impeccable and very attentive. We arrived at the first port Grand Cayman port, the excursion was well scheduled and we had a fantastic day with the dolphins, very professional and attentive. Then we arrived in Costa Maya and our nightmare began. We started our excursion with Dreamtime dive resort and the guide accommodated us in a local taxi that did not know where he was going. When he finally found the scuba diving shop that had to take us, we got out of the taxi and someone called "the doll" received us. They gave us an initial talk and mounted us on a fishing boat transformed into a diving boat without the necessary safety equipment or even a miserable life jacket. In the end it happened and my wife suffered an accident suffering a severe  head injury with an air tank. Immediately she was transferred to the nearest emergency center being denied medical attention because princess vendor did not want to accept responsibility, we asked that she be transferred to the ship thinking that Princess's medical staff would help us. Big mistake Mr. Mark manager from the medical bay denied medical attention to my wife for not being able to pay $150. We tried to talk with Ms. Karen princess tour coordinator and it was the most frustrating and unpleasant conversation I have ever had in my life. We had to cancel all the excursions and we could not leave the cabin in the rest of the trip. Finally we returned home and my wife could have medical treatment. If you travel in princess never leave the ship princess is not accepting responsible for its vendors even if you buy the excursion to princess and also do not forget to bring $150 because if something happens to you on your vacation Mr. Mark if you do not pay him first he will deny you medical attention

Super repositioning cruise. We did 28 days by obx

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sky Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

As a new ship, it had some kinks to work out. They brought experienced staff from other ships to smooth the transition. Does not ride as well as the Regal Princess. The officers were out and about with the captain in frequent appearance as well. The itinerary was exceptional and great for an active person. We loved it. We went with friends we met on the Regal Princess so it enhanced our trip.

Excellent Mediterranean Itinerary by jladams

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sky Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall, the cruise was excellent and I'd definitely recommend Princess and would do another. My only real complaint was too many ports in a row and a few of the ports of call were very short days to see the area. If booking again, I'd look for longer times in port and more sea days between ports.

Awful first experience on Princess by jjinsa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sky Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Let me start off saying if I could give 0 stars I would. We booked the Club Class mini suite because of the amenities they offered compared to balcony rooms that we usually get. When we arrived in our suite, we noticed no wine or canapés were in the room as per the information sent to us. When I inquired at the Guest Services area about the missing amenities, the gentleman I spoke to asked me to wait a moment and handed me two printouts and proceeded to tell me that we did NOT have the Club Class but the regular mini suite. I asked for a manager and Monica came up front. I explained the situation and she said to give her a moment. After about 5 minutes she came back and said we were not in a Club Class mini suite. I then pulled up my confirmation which listed the following amenities: $100 Visa Prepaid Card for booking a Suite. $25 OBC from Princess for booking last minute savings rate. Exclusive Resident of Florida Rate. Exclusive Perks for booking a Suite aboard Princess. Exclusive and priority Club Class Dining (Including Specialty Dining) with exclusive dining menu options for Mini Suite Class. Priority Embarkation and Debarkation Invitation to Captain's Club Dinner Complimentary Room Service with 24-hour options. Complimentary Breakfast delivered every morning Complimentary turn down services including Wine, Canapes, and Chocolates. Terry Shaw bath robes Cotton Luxury Linens and Towels Monica took a picture of it and said she would check into it. My husband and I went a shore for the day. When we came back 6 hours later, we went to check and see if Monica had a solution. She explained to my husband that the supervisors have been on shore all day and no one was there that she could speak with. My husband explained that there had to be someone of authority on board the ship she could have spoke to in the last 6 hours to make the situation right. We walked away fuming at this point because no one wanted to make the situation right. We went to dinner and was tracked down by Monica and Giuseppe who was her boss. They said the situation was "green lighted" and everything was fixed so we would receive the amenities we paid for. They offered to move us to the specialty dining area right then but we were fine sitting in the area we were in that night since we were already eating our dinner. When we went to our room after dinner NOTHING had changed except for the wine being there. No upgraded linens, towels, robes or canapés. When we went to dinner the next night and tried to enter the special dining area we were not so politely informed we were not Club Class and could not sit there. We explained we were and that it should have been reflected in our profile. She then went to get the manager and when the manager saw us she waived us back. (Monday) we called room service at 9:30pm requesting ice tea and ice. We gave up waiting around 11pm. At 12:45am there was a knock at our door waking us up saying room service. When my husband got up and opened the door it was our request being delivered 3 1/2 hours later. We spoke to another couple who had requested room service at 9 pm. At 10:15pm they called and cancelled the order so they could go to bed. At 12:30am room service showed up waking them up with their order. (Tuesday) We visited the "Adults Only" pool area for an afternoon. When we got out, I wrapped a towel around my waist and proceeded to our stateroom to take a shower and get ready for dinner. When I looked down I saw my swim suit had gone from a neon peach to almost totally white. I called down to Guest Services and inquired as to what kind of chemicals they use in their pool because it bleached my swim suit out. I was told that the chemicals were put in according to the Health and Safety codes. I explained to the young lady that answered what had happened and she basically said "oh well". Later on that evening I found out another passenger's suit had been bleached out also. (Wednesday) We got back from being on shore early afternoon and went to eat. We requested ice tea as that is all I drink. We were informed they had run out. Please keep in mind we are only 4 days into an 8 day cruise. I saw the manager of the buffet area and asked about the ice tea. He said it was true they had run out. I then asked if that meant we would not have any the rest of the cruise and he said "Yes". In general the attitude of most of the crew is that we are bothering them if we ask for assistance. When we pass a crew member in the hallway, we acknowledge them and they turn their head or look down and don't reply. The BEST part of the cruise so far has been the Spa personnel who have gone above and beyond to make sure our experience with them is more than satisfactory. Jay Anne and Dr. B are awesome. It has been a wasted 4 days so far not to mention the money we have spent on a cruise that has been nothing but stressful and less than enjoyable. We are dreading the next 3 days. We will NOT be returning.

Total rip off! Delta and Princess Cruise Line. Charged me $1100 for a bottle of wine, one dinner and WiFi. Travel agents lied and customer service is a joke.

Excellent cruise overall by BobHoward

Great food, service, entertainment. Comfortable and clean ship. Full capacity, but couldn’t tell because traffic flowed well and was spread out throughout the ship. Respectful cruisers, no rowdy or unseemly behavior noticed at all.

Very good cruise limited by weather by alancairns35

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sky Princess

This was a very enjoyable cruise. We have been to the Canaries before and looked forward to returning. The cruise was marred be bad weather in the Bay of Biscay which meant the captain rerouting the vessel. This was a good decision as the voyage was rough but not uncomfortably so. As a result of the rerouting we missed out on our call at Tenerife.

Incredible Itinerary by ullamist

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sky Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Overall a very nice cruise--I never get tired of seeing Norway. Since it frequently rains when seeing Norway, next time I will probably choose a ship that has more indoor space--like an area with a covered swimming pool and areas to sit where you can enjoy the view from a higher deck.

DISSATISFIED by EMRI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sky Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This is the 4th cruise my family have been on and the first with Sky Princess. We were looking forward to this holiday hoping it was going to be as good a the previous three. Such a huge disappointment. The pool area was unusable due to unruly children and teenagers running and jumping in who’s parents were not supervising and no deck staff present to control it. Signs up everywhere saying no jumping or diving were ignored. There is an adult pool area which we could have used but the seating is limited and the times we went to that area there was nowhere to sit. The ship advertises itself to have a promenade deck. It is not a promenade deck at all and instead houses all the life rafts and ugly mechanisms for them blocking any access to the side of the ship and any view too. You cannot even walk all the way around the ship on the so called ‘promenade deck’ either because it is blocked off at the rear of the ship. Another huge disappointment. The entertainment was dire. Previous cruises have had fantastic shows every night that has blown out minds. Sky Princess had a hypnotherapist, a comedian (I use that term loosely) and a Phil Collins tribute night. I didn’t bother going to the theatre every night because everything that was advertised in the platter was a diabolical selection of desperate attempts to provide some form of so called entertainment. Previous cruises we have been on have had plenty to do during the day but on Sky Princess there was carpet bowls and bean bag throwing competitions and boring quizzes every single day. It was like being on a very expensive Butlins holiday. Needless to say my family and I were bored. At ports if we wanted to get off the ship we were hit with a fee of 15 dollars per person for transfer transportation to the main amenities. This was not communicated to us when booking the holiday. The excuse for charging this fee was the ship is too big to park nearer to amenities when at port. The ship may be big but it is only to cram more people on board and make more money. It does not have better restaurants, bigger swimming pools, nicer theatre or bigger cabins. Corners have been cut in so many areas in order for Princess to make as much money as possible. The balconies are narrow and sitting on the chairs was difficult because it was such a tight space, only two chairs and a tiny table was available and we had a mini suite room for 4 people. The food was mediocre and again corners were cut with very limited menu choices and small portions. For example I ordered mozzarella sticks one lunch time and literally got two on a plate and it was not as if they were large either. You get more than that in Mc Donald’s. In the evenings the main bar (which was basically a walk through from one part of the ship to the next) had no atmosphere whatsoever. There were two violin players playing boring classical music for an hour every night and sometimes there was one guy singing, again for an hour. The rest of the time the place was in silence and so dull. Other cruises we’ve been on had a nice piano bar with a pianist playing and singing which was provided for several hours a night and enough seating for all on board. On Sky princess everywhere you went people would be fighting for a seat or hovering around waiting for one. Not relaxing at all. As for the so called ‘brilliant’ Wi-Fi package which we paid £200 for four devises and couldn’t access the internet 90% of the time and the medallion app being as useful as a chocolate kettle we couldn’t have been more frustrated. I know this all sounds like first world problems but when you pay a lot of money for a holiday where everyday is more disappointing that the previous you can’t help but feel bitter and upset with the sheer waste of hard earned money. We will never travel with Princess cruises again and will never recommend anyone books a holiday with Sky Princess!!!!
