We boarded this cruise back to back after a 25 day Holland America cruise. Princess was a huge disappointment for us by comparison. It just wasn’t nearly as classy as the Holland America or Celebrity cruises we are used too. We were so disappointed in the quality of the food every day.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Everyone sitting in rows in a big room waiting. Getting our medallion and checking in was fast.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
ALL OF THE FOOD was British and not good in our opinion. Even the main dining room offered odd combinations and horrible meat. We stopped eating beef altogether on this cruise. Our waiter was great, though, and helped us order food off the menu the way WE wanted it. Several coffee machines were broken and the only free coffee was in the buffet. No nice starch napkins or candles on the table as on Holland America.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Not enough seating around the pools.
Entertainment

Some shows were entertaining. Good musicians.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Ding room staff great. Room steward great. Service desk staff very accommodating. Internet helpers great.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Beautiful ship, but lacking in the quality of amenities compared to other cruise lines: no cloth towels in public restrooms, so always paper bits on the floor. No toilet seat covers either. Room towels were not thick , toiletries were watery, thin toilet paper, not a great shower head like on Holland America…..and then there’s that shower curtain!🫤. It seemed clean, but I never wanted it to touch me!
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Not bad, but here are the negatives: very narrow balcony, cheap towels and supplies, toiletries watery, and that SHOWER CURTAIN. There was plenty of storage and the room was light and modern.
Ship tip
Be willing to live on British food and be aware that you will have a shower curtain in your shower.
We have cruised with P & O, Princess, C&M no longer here.
And MSC .
All are different but we take each as it is enjoy every one and will only complain if there is a real problem.
Just get on board and enjoy don't go looking for something to complain about. 😉.
If you like HAL so much, then maybe that's the libe yiu should stick to instead of comparing apples to oranges and then complain they aren't the same. I know fir a fact that that Princess will offer more foods associated with a cruise region, BUT, it won't be strictly that kind of food. There is always the Princess Favorites and other dining venues to choose from. There is coffee stations all over the ship and to say only was working isn't true. If HAL uses cloth towels in public restrooms, to me, that's less sanitary, cause I prefer to use single use paper. Towels in the cabins are thick enough, but obviously not thick enough for your elitist body. All yiu did was whine about how bad things were, and after taking many Princess cruises, I have enjoyed every one of them and as far as all your whining, it's all perspective, and maybe just go back to HAL so that the other cruisers can enjoy their cruise
