Review summary

Overall great cruise, great ship. Royal Caribbean is better though overall in my opinion but they are also more expensive. Food is fantastic on Sky Princess.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
30 mins + just to drop of suitcases then about 20 mins to get onboard. We think the long queues was because of the new system where you don’t get an arrival time slot so everyone piled in around 11-12pm

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Amazing, even the buffet was of a good standard whilst the Crown Grill was exceptional but spoilt ever so slightly by only getting 5 minutes max between courses. Dining room was fantastic and great service. Fantastic choice of drinks, discovered a new favourite vodka on board.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Movies under the stars is a must, specially at night. Pools are nice and warm, the putting golf course is crap, crazy golf would be so much better. Didn’t take part in the piazza and princess live activities but they looked fun.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Plenty of entertainment in theatre and some of the bars. The quiz shows were great. Really enjoyed the ‘guess the crew members job’ in the piazza.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was a little stressed at times but maybe due to being overworked. He did his job very well though. The language barrier was tough sometimes at bars and specially at international cafe, I lost count of how many times I wanted a proper cup for my coffee and kept on getting a paper cup lol. I asked twice for directions to a place and both times was taken to the wrong place lol but overall they all was great

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Can’t fault the cleanliness anywhere on board. Fantastic

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Was ok until our kids bed was pulled out then we realised the ladder to gain access to the bed was fully in the way from our beds to the bathroom n wardrobes. Kept having to move the ladder to the other side of the room or squeeze through it, not ideal at all. Beds were amazing. Overall just not enough room but whilst balcony was very small it wasn’t really a problem for us.

Ship tip

For the Princess Live Game/Quiz shows make sure your there extra early to get a seat

Ports of call

Bergen, Norway

4 out of 5
We only had till 1pm in Bergen which was not enough, the open top bus tour is a complete rip off price wise but it will show you Bergen. We got off near The Bryggen and by the time we had visited all the shops it was time to go back and so missed half the bus tour. Bergen is lovely city with great shops. You have to go to The Bryggen for sure.

Skjolden, Norway

4 out of 5
Not much to do here unless you book an excursion. The scenery is amazing even though it rained solid throughout the whole day and we enjoyed the walk around, most people were back on ship within an hour or 2 but that was probably because of the weather, it was dreadful but not Skjolden’s fault

Olden, Norway

4 out of 5
Had planned to do the sky lift but weather was not great… very cloudy so we did the bus tour. Olden is very scenic and was without a doubt the day we took the most photos. Even if you do the sky lift I would seriously recommend the bus tour as olden lake is photo heaven.

Haugesund

Not much here, we got a land train for a tour of city then stopped off in the centre. Nothing special but ok. Would recommend you do an excursion if there is a decent one.

Southampton (London), England

2 out of 5
Stayed over for a night so we didn’t have to do the 5 hour journey on the day. Not much in Southampton

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was organised and took about 20 mins from ticket number being called out.
