Wonderful cruise, and despite all the media's heated rhetoric about cruises not being safe, we couldn't have felt safer! Our ship was at 1/3 capacity, mask policies were enforced in all indoor areas, hand washing stations were everywhere, and all guests had to be fully vaccinated with negative COVID tests prior to boarding. This was the best cruise we've ever been on, and we are so glad we didn't cancel our reservation due to all the fear being spread by the media! Wearing a mask indoors was no big deal - and kept us feeling safe! Being on the cruise felt like we were taking the same, or likely even less, amount of risk as going to a local Wal-Mart for groceries. No better time than now to get a much needed break from reality out in beautiful nature.
Embarkation

A bit of a line, and people don't really socially distance like they're supposed to... but besides that, it was efficient and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Estrella was the best main dining room. We also loved the International Cafe for coffees and snacks, and the pool deck shacks were the best! The pizzeria and Salty Dog hot dog/hamburger spot were go-to lunch places for us! Crown Grill was our specialty dining option, and the filet mignon/lobster combo there was amazing. Sushi on board costs extra, but also really fresh and good.
Onboard Activities

Loved the pickleball court, basketball court, and track. Fitness center is state of the art on this ship!
Entertainment

Great live musicians, particularly the female violin duo that played every day! The entertainment staff was fabulous. Every game show was a blast.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The friendliest, warmest staff we've ever encountered on a cruise ship!
Ship Quality

Beautiful, modern ship. Our favorite one yet!
Cabin / Stateroom

Beautiful cabin, and though it's small, this ship makes the most of the space! The closet felt huge, and the bathroom was also a great size compared to others we've seen on other older ships. Loved the on-wall flat screen TV too!
Ship tip
Ditch the free lanyard you get for your medallion and spend the $12 for a nice wrist band! Feels like you're wearing an Apple watch, and it's the only thing you'll need onboard. It's also all you need to go on shore - it's your one ticket for everything! So great!
LOVED this place! We did the Princess sponsored Turtle Cove/Shipwreck Snorkel experience and had a blast. We saw three sea turtles, a stingray and a shipwreck, and the three people running the tour were spunky and fun!
We just walked around the town, and it didn't have much to see/do. We should have gone to one of the 365 beaches on this island - definitely go to a beach and don't just walk around here as there isn't much to see or do.
I did the Princess sponsored excursion to Bois Cotlette to see how chocolate is made. I loved the drive (though it was about 30 in an old bus on very windy mountainous roads), and the property was gorgeous! However, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of historical information we were given on the tour. We also didn't get to actually make chocolate as advertised - we were more just told about how to make chocolate from one lady who owns the place - who also provided zero context about the history of the property or how she became the owner. It was still a beautiful location, but I would have loved a more in-depth tour. I had also considered doing a hot springs tour, but heads up - it's really hot in Dominica! So once I was there, I was glad I didn't select a host springs tour given the outside heat.
Loved Aruba! We didn't buy a Princess excursion but instead enjoyed wandering around the shops on our own. We walked to the I LOVE ARUBA sign and took a bus for $10 each way to Palm Beach to swim for a few hours. Really a great place to just roam on your own without a Princess tour.
Appreciate your feedback. Looking forward to being on the Sky Princess in December and using the Medallion for the first time. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
