Sirena Keeps Getting Better! by GeorgesMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was our second cruise aboard Sirena and not our last - we are so happy with the ship (and the company) that we have three more cruises scheduled over the next year and a half. This was our second Mediterranean cruise, selected for the ports and time of year, and we loved seeing a mix of old favorite ports and brand-new ones.

Sirena by robp67

Ship: Sirena / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The service aboard Sirena was not up to the standards that I have experienced on other Oceania cruises.  Next time I'll cruise on the Riviera or Marina.

Great time - Oceania is luxury❤️ by bjszabo98

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: South Pacific

Great time, good weather, fun time  snorkeling and good shopping ports.

Food in the two private dining rooms was free and food was wonderful.

Can have lobster and big scampi cooked for you every day in the buffet area.

Would of liked to see more creame brûlée on the menu but that's because I don't like chocolate!

Beautiful smaller ship giving great luxury and ample room not to feel that you are surrounded with people. French Polynesia islands a delight to visit.

Had a great time. by johnfisher23112

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Transpacific

Overall, the cruise was excellent, however, a few points reduced my score from a 5 to a 4.

*  I think the ship should rethink stopping in Suva, Fiji, as we did not feel very safe in that port.  We were warned about this in "Currents," and also were warned about it by the bus driver taking us to town.  He said even catching a cab could be dangerous.  We went back to the port dock on his recommendation and booked an excursion there.

*  I would love to see less expensive excursion prices.  Many times you can get the same excursion at the port dock for a considerably cheaper price.

The service on the ship is excellent as well as the food.  We would definitely recommend this trip.

South Pacific Cruise by map2221

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Transpacific

As for our Oceania cruise, this is the first time that we've cruised with this brand.  This cruise line is not of the quality to be classified as a luxury cruise liner.  I was told by several other passengers that this cruise line was bought out by another cruise line.  I personally do not intend to book with this cruise line again.

Our cruise departed New Zealand and cruised through New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Moorea, Bora Bora and Papette.  We felt that the tours operated for several of these cruise destinations were not what we expected; they fell short of the descriptions provided in the brochure.  One example is of a guide who tells how pretty the view is from a look out point as the driver proceeds to not stop.  This is not acceptable tour operator behavior.  The land tour operators are selected by Oceania and we expected better.

We boarded in Sydney easy... by wineklein

Sail date: /
Ship: Sirena

We boarded in Sydney easy process. We were lead to a crowded lunch area. You can go to pool area that serves burgers. Also it is a good time to purchase laundry coins. The laundry is on deck 7 with 6 washing machines and dryers. Soap is complimentary. Cabins are small so we showered mostly in the locker rooms. Also, we stored life vests under the bed along with our suit cases.

Colorful Coral Seas by carollynnhousto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Australasia

I would recommend this cruise to others if they didn't have 6 straight days of high winds, rain and rough seas and were able to go ashore.  I chose the wrong time of year.

Oceania's food iand service s always excellent

Sirena give away by cbolte3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Best Price Quarantee did not work! (Be glad to explain in detail. Should be quite embarrassing to Oceana.)

Sirena was truly exceptional. Apparently it will be a few years before its sister ships  are upgraded accordingly.

Tropical Fantasy comes alive by elv518

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: South Pacific

The cruise was excellent except for a few minor glitches.  As usual, the food was wonderful., the staff were well trained and most hospitable.  My only negative comments had to do with most of the nightly shows.  In most cases, the production numbers were tired and trite.  The comedians were not funny.  At the end of the cruise, however, the talent improved greatly.  The Las Vegas singers,  the violinist were wonderful.  However, my biggest complaint is with the conclusion of the cruise.  We had to get off at 9 A.M.  WE had arrived at Tahiti the previous night, way too late for a tour.  Most planes didn't leave until midnight the day we arrived.  We learned about our flights about 6 weeks before we left.  We then had to make plans for our day in Tahiti.  WE decided to take a tour, and then go to the guides home to rest before being taken to the airport.  This was expensive, but necessary.  Those who opted for the cruises plans either stayed in an unairconditioned town hall. or a hotel that refused to let them use the pool.  Not a great way to conclude a trip.  Better planning is necessary, and giving people options about the last day earlier would have been helpful.

Sirena by tjsyndicate

Ship: Sirena / Destination: North America

as usual the best part of an Oceana cruise is the staff, and the best meals are at Red Ginger. all else was very pleasant. particularly enjoyed the string quartet and the barista. our cabin staff was quite efficient and extremely cordial. we liked our stewardess Caroline.

That Perfect Combination of Relaxing and Fascinating by GeorgesMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

What a great way to see several different Central American countries without doing a road trip!  My second time through the canal, so that was a long (and wet) day, but like all our Oceania itineraries so far there were some gems (Cartagena, Corinto) and some interesting, glad I saw them but wouldn't necessarily go back ports (Costa Rica).  I can't say enough about the warm, helpful Oceania staff beginning with the cruise director (Dottie this time) - they seriously seem like family at the end of the voyage - and the food?  Seems to just get better and better each trip: we never eat desserts at home because they simply can't compare to Oceania's, and the beds are heaven at the end of each busy day.  We were leery of 5 sea days, but Dottie packed them with activities that sounded too fun to miss - and there's always the wonderful gym too.  Overall a fantastic experience, and of course we booked our next cruise while onboard.

Sirena is an Excellent Addition to the Fleet by mjslubbock

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The Sirena provides the same warm and welcoming atmosphere as the Regatta. The two new specialty restaurants are outstanding, especially Red Ginger. The Grand Dining Room's new approach to lunch is called Jacque's Bistro, but there isn't much different from before -- which is perfectly fine because both approaches to lunch result in great lunches.  The staff is friendly, competent, and the usual credit to themselves and their employer.  We have already planned to cruise again on the Sirena.

GREAT Time on Sirena- Kasbah to Canaries by bbross

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Canaries

My wife and I were very pleased with our trip, its itinerary and especially the food and staff. I could not believe previous reviews about the staff, because it was the best on all 4 of my Oceania voyages. Food was superior once again especially in the GDR and Red Ginger, and the Terrace Cafe had a large variety of choices at all meals. The ship has most of the same amenities as Marina and Riviera , though it has fewer specialty restaurants and the boutiques are smaller. The entertainment was varied and very enjoyable, and we experienced all of them- nightly production shows and guest performers, The Quadruvian String Quartet, the Sirena Show band, dancing at night in Horizons, etc.

Smaller is smaller by megtorelli

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

My favorite part was meeting my fellow passengers.  What makes them interesting is that because of the high end itinerary it attracts well traveled passengers.  I myself am a frequent traveler, but I was a piker in comparison to others I met.  The food and service was also very good.

i missed the amenities that other ships have.  The shore excursions need to be better planned and researched by the shore excursion crew.  One example is on a Sunday in Spain that usually many things are closed due to religious beliefs.  We were in Ibiza and one tour that was offered was on the south side of the island and another to the north.  The south side was completely closed down, but the north side was completely opened.  The question is why offer a tour where there is nothing to see.

Ship: Sirena / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

My favorite part of this cruise was the itinerary . beautiful ports , even thou ,they cancelled two of the ports we were schedule to visit.

We were very happy with the cabin service , and dinning room service , but i think the entertaiment part could be better . For example he nights of karaoke , they didn't have any songs in spanish , and they were several spanish people traveling in that cruise .

Ports of Call were great….the ship was a huge disappointmentment by j40fish

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was the inaugural cruise for Oceania's newest ship, Sirena. We upgraded our stay to the concierge level. We had expected a special level of service and that was not evident. We had to constantly leave notes for the room attendants to fill the fridge, replace the soap, supply clean glasses, etc. This was a similar experience with service at the restaurants, pool, and bars. We would constantly have to find a waiter or waitress. Simple things like refilling drinks, replacing silverware that they had taken up were a constant aggravation. At the cafe where you can "graze" for food you had to have someone serve you food that was right in front of you. It is a nice idea to make you feel special but the staff struggled with fulfilling simple tasks like toasting bread. To make sure you got the food you asked for you had to wait. Watching the toaster to avoid burning was a necessity as well as waiting for items that had to be cooked because if you left that section to get other food it was a good chance your food would be given to someone else.

I would not fault the staff. They were working hard but didn't appear to have the training and experience to this "higher end" cruise line. This was clearly a management problem. To make the point even stronger the ship had a significant amount of maintenance issues. Toilets stopped working, electricity went off on part of the ship, the hot tub jets never worked, handicap doors were inoperable, and air-conditioning stopped on part of the ship. To cap it off there was a fire in the engine room and it gets even better. On the last day we were in Venice. They shut down the entire pool deck for maintenance for the whole day. Those of us who had been to Venice before had nothing to do except to watch movies in our rooms. Oh and of course the satellite TV's had spotty reception.

My wife and I have cruised many different cruise lines. We thought we would try paying the extra costs for a smaller ship. In the future, we will probably opt for a premium suite on a larger boat where we know the mechanics of the ship and the staff will be well trained.
