Ship: Serenade of the Seas

I had a great cruise which was booked for relaxation versus itinerary or onboard options. Serenade is a beautiful ship. I am a fan of the art auctions but not a fan of them hijacking the Viking Crown lounge which is prime real estate. It's one of the best places to relax and escape the crowds. I was able to use the Concierge and Diamond lounges but since that wasn't always the case, I recognized that taking the space out of play for other passengers is not ideal. Royal could definitely use more complimentary, readily available dining options on its smaller and midsized vessels. The menu at Park Cafe and Cafe Latitudes isn't comprehensive enough. You won't starve until something opens up; but compared to the options offered by their competition, I find their complimentary offerings fairly limited and uninspiring.

Very Enjoyable in Spite of Health Protocols by KLVA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Government changing requirements prior to boarding added quite a bit of stress. One failed test two days before boarding would cancel the cruise. Getting past that was a great relief. The ship was clean and we were very happy to be cruising again.

Bring Your Own Shampoo! by Phyllisbruno

Everything would have been good if the Port of Tampa had a better protocol for disembarkation for passengers.

First post covid cruise - It was a little different by rnk3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a good cruise. The departure from Tampa Bay was a different experience than most cruise ports. I do recommend being out on the top deck when the ship goes under the Skyway bridge. Coco Cay was definitely the best part of the trip. The cruise experience is a little different with the covid protocols, but there is still fun to be had. I didn't feel like it was any more risky than a trip to the grocery these days.

Serenade of the Sea by lindseyli

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

It’s was a relaxing 13 nights cruise from Los Angeles to Miami with stops at Puerto Vallarta, Puntarenas, transit through Panama Canal and Cartagena. Disappointed that Costa Rica was canceled. Sailing with more staffs then passengers was a teat for great services but activities were cut short. The entertainments were gathered to old people and very disappointed.

Great cruise by kkcordell

Wonderful experience despite having 3 ports eliminated due to COVID. Sea days were great and the Panama Canal should be on everyone’s bucket list!

Unique bucket list experience...a must for cruisers who love sea days! by cwu822

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

I am not a frequent Royal Caribbean cruiser, but this cruise met most of my expectations. Dining and customer service were excellent. Activities were average, not the most boring or exciting. The most disappointing aspects of my cruise were the cancelled port of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua (no compensation given by Royal Caribbean) and the rude spa manager. Overall, it was a relaxing cruise and an eye-opening way to experience the Panama Canal.

Different Kind of Cruising by karog12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Overall a great cruise! I had more headaches leading up to the cruise dealing with Royal’s customer service than I did when I got on the ship. Everything was smooth and easy. The one thing I did not like was the staff hounding you about speciality dinner, especially the first day. Everywhere you turn, someone was asking if you wanted to purchased a speciality dining package. I get the ship is at less capacity and they are trying to make money so we didn’t let it bother us to much. It was great to be back cruising and the team on Serenade of the Seas did a great job. We would book the ship again.

Happy to be cruising to Alaska again! by Psychokitty12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

From beginning to end we felt pampered, listened to and provided with food we desired. Only 922 passengers, but believe this will continue as numbers increase.

Amazing cruise! Perfect ship for Alaskan cruise. The crew was fantastic. Royal Caribbean is doing a great job keeping everyone safe and not letting Covid precautions affect the cruise experience.
