nice ship, foods were ok in dining room, usually we travel on Carnival cruises which we really like. entertainment on Carnival is so much better. All our 9 family carnival cruises have been before Covid. we plan to take Carnival cruise in November 2023. We will definitely, surely be comparing our RC cruise to our Carnival cruise.

It was okay by Eve404

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

I booked my cruise with another family (both with kids). We booked together and then called to ensure our rooms and dinning reservations were grouped together. They assured us they were together and asked us to call back if there were any issues. When rooms got assigned we were separated instead they grouped my family member with another reservation. When i called to change it, they refused and told me it would cost extra, even i confirmed (from Royal Carribean) that the room next to my family membet was available. We were also separated at dining too. My family was grouped with someone else. The dining manager was able to rectify the situation on day 3 but not without hassles. I will be booking directly with Royal Carribean next time.

Good price but not the best itinerary by ljonedog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Good ship with plenty to do. Not much happens after 10pm except music in the bars. I didn't mind that. But if you want nightlife this may not be for you. I don't think it's necessary to do an excursion in all ports but if you're comfortable with booking outside the cruise ship there is plenty to do at all ports.

Our First Cruise by geraldmorawski9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

This being our first cruise was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were with another couple who had cruised before. Everything was great! The staff was amazing. We will definitely go on another cruise in the future. Royal Caribbean was a great choice for our first cruise.

GREAT EXPERIENCE by gc30078

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

This was a gift for our 30th anniversary and for both our first cruise. The ship, staff and food were excellent. Plenty of activities and space to relax. We both would love to spend time in the casino but that was impossible due to the stinch of the smoke. WHY can't that area be smoke free as the rest of the ship?? Why patronize a few at the expense of the majority??

Great Caribbean cruise. by forejoeb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

A good cruise overall. Serenade is an older ship but the crew does an excellent job with service and entertainment. Ports of call are okay with Cozumel being one of the stops and most cruisers have been there before. With four ships in port on the same day Costa Maya was overwhelmed. Food was okay in the main dining room and , of course, drinks are always good.

Exotic and Beautiful Cruise! by Cruiser29488351

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

No matter how many times we cruise - Royal Caribbean staff always shine through. The service on this line is outstanding. Always looking after our needs. Can't wait to go again. I would do this itinerary again - not a fan of the ports. Not a lot to do here.

Panama, Cartagena, Costa Rica, Plus Lots of Scuba Diving! by DeepWaterHappy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Overall a wonderful cruise with fantastic ports of call. There was a large group that took over the Solarium, and the ship is in need of some cosmetic attention. The spa services were incredible - we tried out couples massage, pedicure, and hair treatment. All were above and beyond our anticipation. We love the smaller ships and the more intimate connections we make on board them. The food was a touch below our previous experiences, but still good. Staff and crew were, as always, polite and helpful. Based on this trip, we booked full transit of the Panama Canal for next Spring out of Panama - no need to fly to California. We have several more cruise dives planned, and I will put all the details on my blog at DeepWaterHappy.com. We just completed ABC Aruba/Bonaire/Curacao trip and St. Kitts, Nevis, Maarten recently, so had lots of recent experience for comparison. Our shore excursions will be covered on the blog - we book with RCCL as well as with outside companies regularly, and I'll cover those details thoroughly. Kim and Bill - about to be Diamond Plus on our next cruise!

Dining Disaster by hbragg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Our Dining was scheduled for a table for two in the Main Dining Room. Upon arrival we realized we were seated at a table for 8!!!! We made our request AGAIN in person with the Maitre D. He assured us we would have a table for two for the remainder of our short cruise. Day 2 we were told a table for two was available on Deck 4 - the My Time Dining floor. We arrived to find no table. We waited and finally were seated. This happened every night. We would spend time during our day to speak to Dining Services - we were promised a table for two - upon arrival for dinner - no table. The Dining Manager was rude and untruthful to us. We would not cruise on Serenade again. We love cruise dining and it is a highlight of our trip, but NOT this trip. We are Diamond Members and have cruised for 20 years. BIG let down.

Noisy Cabin 3511 (theatre speakers, ship arrival and next door cabin shower) by elitecruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Windjammer menu should have more variety. Shows in the theatre need improvement. The cruise director had a temper tantrum because audience wanted another song from Daryl Williams. He said Daryl did not have another song. Said he was going to talk about evening activities but was not going to do it and walked off the stage.

Wonderful relaxing time. by 2111cogunnye7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas

Overall it was great experience. We have another scheduled for November. Other than Royal Caribbeans dining room policy change we were comfortable and relaxed which was our goal. Donna Balaban once again came through with all of our needs
