Review summary

It was a great week and a good time was had by all. We enjoyed our first time on Serenade. My young adult children didn’t enjoy the ship quite as much as I did but I booked this trip for the itinerary and not the ship itself.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had the key so our embarkation was quick and easy. We boarded with the earliest time slot to enjoy the most we could on our first day.

We did the zip line and river tubing excursion through the cruise line. We all had a ton of fun. It’s a long bus ride there but the guide was informative and kept us entertained the entire time. The water was definitely colder than I was expecting. Views on the zip line were pretty good.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Excursion through the cruise line. The beach was nice. Drinks were included but food was an extra charge. I loved eating nachos while laying on a beach chair. The only downside was the extremely pushy vendors in the little market area.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did the UTV excursion to Jade Cavern. It was fun. My son jumped in the water from the cliff. Water has a bad sulfur smell but you’re not there a super long time so it shouldn’t deter you from the excursion.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Booked an excursion through Viator as all the cruise line ones we wanted to do were full. We had a great time visiting the monkey and sloth sanctuary. Riding the 4 wheelers was fun and our guides gave us lots of history on the area.

Disembarkation

Disembarking was easy. The whole family had passports. I had prearranged to ride the shuttle to the airport so we just had to grab our bags and head outside to a waiting bus.
