Review summary

We have always Cruised  Carnival. But we decided to splurge this time because we had heard such good things about Royal Caribbean. This ship was awful! The rudest people and staff I have ever seen. And the food was always only lukewarm, never hot. They also do not do the towel animals every night like Carnival, and I so look forward to those every night. For the kind of money that Royal Caribbean charges I would think the least you could get is a nightly towel animal and hot food. I would never recommend Royal Caribbean to anyone!!! They also had very little nite-time activities except for the casino, and neither of us care one thing about gambling

My first time on a RC cruise was on the Serenade as well but I loved it. It was the most relaxing cruise I've been on thus far. I will say that I believe Carnival has better food..especially the deserts. Deck 5 with a cup of coffee and my book sounds like heaven to me right now.

Our family went on this ship Christmas cruise and our group of 22 ALL had best time .. our stewards were absolutely the best, we had towel animals nightly, the food was hot from windjammer plus our nightly sit down dinner food hot, specially restaurant was amazing .. my adult children had their own room down from ours and their steward was always in & out their room remaking beds all day lol .... awesome guy! It was My parents first cruise & again all was fabulous with them too .... I'm sorry your first time on RC was awful but don't give up .... I've been on Carnival Conquest and loved it, great staff, food etc ... just got back from cruise on Carnival Magic Feb Valentine cruise & everything sucked, food cold plus no flavor, entertainment was blah, so much smoke in casino made it miserable to walk through or even try to gamble, our stewards were the only thing that was awesome, to be newer ship it was run down already, couple we met air conditioner was broke & they never fixed it they had leave door open to get some cool air, my sons room had a broken closet door that kept falling, it never was fixed ... however I will continue to cruise with Carnival & not let our bad experience on Magic discourage us, I'll just cruise on other ships ... each cruise line has ups & downs from time to time .... don't give up, keep going, have fun on different ships with each cruise line ... Celebrity cruise line is also great especially grass on top deck with canopies ... NCL Escape is great excluding the 2 hour wait for dinner, entertainment was awesome! Hang in there 😀

My husband and I were on the ship the end of January and had a great time. Sorry you didn't.

We were on the same cruise not sure why you didn't get your nightly towel animal. We had our animal every night. Our dinners were amazing.. we choose not to eat in main dining room but visited the Windjammer..the chef cooked us sirloin strip steak, salmon, filet mignon and lobster. The vegetables were hot and fresh. We saw Britains Finest, Vibelogy great music from the 60 to the 90 David Klinkenberg, Brad Cummings from the David Letterman show, Rechell Sears and Peter Ricardo a magic show and music from the 50 and 60 and music from top broadway shows. We never visited the casino too busy with other activities. Sorry you didn't enjoy your trip. We were very happy with everything on this smaller ship.

It is really more about picking right ship rather than the line. If we had done Sernade of Sea first we probably would have never sailed on RCL again either. It has been my least favorite cruise. I won't say the food was bad, but like you we didn't find a lot to do. Since then I have learned to look up info on the ships. We figured out we like the bigger and newer ships. RCL Allure of the Seas and NCL Escape are our 2 favorites so far. But got to keep trying. Might still be something I like better out there.
