Review summary

We really loved the cruise, and will probably be spoiled forever as this is our first real cruise and I can't see things being better! . The food and service was absolutely outstanding. The only negative was the wifi was not good at all. Even in port which I would think could be switched over to cellular versus satellite connection. We worked with them about it and it did not get better. This may be the way all cruise lines are but we thought it would be better and we cannot fully unplug so that part was disappointing. We definitely would go with Seabourn again.

Embarkation

Easy Peazy, no wait, they took care of everything, champagne on the way in!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was absolutely amazing. Much different than you would expect, this is really 5-star restaurant stuff, not pretty-good buffet style stuff you might expect. Foodies will love this.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The activities were very sedate, which is exactly what we wanted. Pools n hot tubs. The music and shows were not my thing, typical hits of the ..... which caters to the masses, which I am not. But I wasn't really looking for that anyway, If you're looking for high energy onboard activities, look elsewhere. But if you want peace and quiet in the day, and great food and drink in the evening, this is it.

Entertainment

See above. Not my thing.

Children's Programs

No kids and this cruise line does not cater to children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Unbelievable. On second day everyone knows your name. Our cabin attendant asked what we liked (Bombay sapphire and IPAs) and made sure it was in our cabin fridge along with cut limes. They really took great care of us.,

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Easy to get around, well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, walk in closet, tub AND shower, very comfy bed. It was great. It was attended 2 twice a day.

Ship tip

If you need reliable wifi, go to cafes off the ship and/or use your phone when in port.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

No excursion but we were there a couple days before. La Sagrada Familia is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Palamos, Spain

We got off and walked around, it was fine, we were getting used to the cruise.

Sete (Carcassonne), France

Went to canal du midi excursion. It was interesting, saw the canals and also the oyster beds in the lagoon which was very interesting.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Went to Nice on an excursion, it was good! Got to see things from a high and a low vantage point. Then took hop on hop off bus through Monte Carlo. All good!

Toulon, France

Took an excursion to 2 small fishing villages that were picturesque, and had a nice time in the markets.

Ajaccio, Corsica

Not much there in my opinion. DId not take an excursion.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

Went to Cinque Terra which was amazing. The walk down would be rough for those with difficulties and also hte ferry boat on/off is very challenging.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Left ship and headed to Rome for 2 days. Should have taken taxi or researched train better. With luggage it was not a good experience on a commuter train. If you take train, note the closest stop to your destination. We ended up at the Terminal station and should have gotten off several stops back
